Rio Rancho rocked Saturday with nine bands battling it out in the annual Battle of the Bands contest at the Sabana Grande Recreation Center.
Axson, which competed in the metal category, was the overall winner with the days highest score.
Joshua Mays Band took the top spot in the rock category, with Brother Hawk taking 2nd, Ishen Tree 3rd. Bliss Denied also competed.Bands competed for gift certificates from local music stores, studio recording time, music equipment & other prizes. They were Judged on originality, stage presence & other criteria. - Rio Rancho Journal
