Coming from the south I had the opportunity to be around some great gospel singing. My mother was one the persons who inspired me the most. When I would here her sing in the choir, it was like having power from GOD. Every time I heard her sing I got chills. As a young man my mother had encouraged me to join the choir, but I couldn't sing. During that time I listened to alot of hip hop. Now I'm feeling like rap was the only option in order to be around music. As I got older I found out how powerful music was, so now my love for The Gospel was slowly fading. When I got my chance as a local artist, my mind was now set on fame and fortune. It was like a cartoon. You have the devil on one side, and heavens angel on the other. I surely did secular hip hop for all the wrong reasons. I'm sure other artist are to, but they want admit it. I feel like what we say as artist is going to play a vital part in somebodies life. Depending on where they're at. Words can either make or brake a person. Having that opportunity in secular rap gave me the opportunity to find myself in Jesus. Before I made the decision to give my life to Christ to do Holy hip hop, I had to make some sacrifices along the way. Now that I've been called to do gospel everything that was meant for bad turned out for the good. I always feared God but not enough. I wanted to please myself more during my trial and error in life. That's what seperates an artist creativeness, his or her testimony. This will help the next person trying to find there way in life. My testimony maybe similar to others but my creativity is a special blend. I used every element I listened to as a child, to use it for his glory. It gave me the chance to birth out talents I didn't know I had in me. Every element you here in each song is a blend of everything I've ever been through in my life. I'm not here to change how gospel's suppose to sound. That want work. The main thing is that God message stays the same. I also believe God uses us in many different ways. That is what makes an artist original. My main focus is that my music can get out of it's comfort zone. This will give me that chance to encourage the next person behind or beside me.
