Bio

Brothers Pony was originally started by Matthew Miller, T.J. Frye and Matthew Bryce, but after beginning a side project, Brothers Pony was soon pushed aside. Inspired to continue with a new-found want to write and sing songs, singer/guitarist, Matthew Bryce kept on playing solo gigs in Northern Virginia coffee shops and bars. Matthew's high school friend, Jared Carrier approached Matthew in Spring '08 to begin a new band. Instead, Jared came on to play bass with Matthew. Matthew Bryce and Matthew Miller had begun a side band which ultimately had to be abandoned. Matthew Miller, however, joined Matthew and Jared in Brothers Pony on the drums, and the three played until late Fall of '08. In the summer of '08, Matthew's friend, Micah Reiser who leads worship at the church Matthew grew up in came on as lead guitarist. Micah's heart for the Lord, and God's placement of him as a minister in their church, however, brought them to the understanding, and confirmed that it'd be better for Micah to leave the band, and pursue what God had for him. Matthew Bryce's friend Chris joined them for a brief period while it was just Matt and Jared, but left the band to pursue school. Two months past when Daniel Brooks took over drumming duties, and has fit the band very well since. As a band, we come from Christian upbringings, and educations, and really just want to write songs which are glorifying to God, and bring people together in commonality. Musically, we come from all different back grounds ranging in everything from pop and various nordic metal stylings to sludge and folk, opera and drum circles, hip-hop to synth drones, country, and crust punk. The best part is, we just start jamming, and it all comes together.
