"Young Guns Review"

Here’s one from an up and coming Austin, TX band called The Brothers Vinyl. In his email to me, Josh Drew says that they just finished recording their first EP; I must admit I was surprised by the production quality. Normally a first EP is a low budget affair (we hear plenty of these via MTIB email…), but this was altogether different. The instrumentation is tightly knit, the vocals and harmonies work well, and the song itself boasts a great enthusiasm. Definitely check these guys out!http://musicthatisntbad.org/2012/06/14/the-brothers-vinyl-young-guns/ - Music That isn't Bad

Bio

The Brothers Vinyl are a 5-Piece alternative pop-rock group formed and fashioned to the Austin Texas music scene in 2011. They are Kyle Seigel (Lead Vocals, Guitar), James Gibson (Backing Vocals, Guitar), Kyle Hayes (Bass), Josh Drew (Drums), and James Blair (Keyboard). They released their first EP Don't Panic in 2012 and had an exciting first year with performances in the Texas Independence Festival, SXSW '13 and showcases all over Austin.

With the momentum of their first album they recorded their second EP, Layers, in 2013 as an acoustic experience to showcase their dynamic range. It was a stripped down, smoothed out, sexy and energetic experience filled with extra percussion. acoustic backbone and bluesy guitar solos. It lead to highly received coffeehouse performances, strong blog reviews, community-service shows with the Helping Hands Home and a strong growth in our fan base.

With the next year in sights, they released a teaser of their next album titled Swing While You're King. They have recently added piano into their already dynamic sounds with James Blair becoming a full-time member in 2014 and has recorded on their upcoming album Where the Water Runs Deep which will be released early 2015. It's only going to get more exciting.
