Bio

Brought Down Running (BDR) is an aggressive Orange County rock band, who prides themselves on their energetic, heart-pounding live performances. Brought Down Running has been together since November 2005, when they released their first Lp entitled The Death of Roy (2005). The band released a four song studio demo featuring vocals by ex-frontman Jeff Ridley. Shortly after the release Jeff left the band due to artistic differences. Their most recent EP, BDR(2010), features lead vocals by current bassist Cory Cooke. He remains their current lead singer and bassist.

Brought Down Running began after the break-up of the band Bus Driver Roy. After their band broke up, Jeff , Paul, and Cory formed Brought Down Running, bringing with them most of Bus Driver Roy’s song catalog. Many of those songs made up the first album released by Brought Down Running entitled The Death of Roy (2005).

In early 2007, BDR let go of their drummer and guitarist finding current musicians Travis Heath and Mark Stearns to replace them. Together, this new group produced a more alternative and intricate sound, which strayed from the bands previous punk roots.

In Spring of 2009, following the release of their EP The Danger Of Monotony, Jeff announced that he would be stepping down as lead singer and frontman of the group. He left due to creative differences and an urge to pursue a more behind the scenes roll in music. The band decided rather than auditioning new singers, they'd see if one of the remaining members could step in and front the band. The result was the band naming Cory as they're new singer. A year later, in the spring of 2010, the newly invigorated BDR released an EP entitled BDR with three brand new songs.

In the summer of 2010, long time friend and BDR member, Mark Stearns decided to step away from music to continue his education. This left a void that could not, like before, be filled with an existing member. So BDR set out and auditioned new drummers. And by September they found the perfect replacement in Chris Yeates. With their line up whole again, BDR is back in full force with their energetic live show.
