Bio

here's some light reading for ya'll ! Bruce Isaacson's family contains seven generations of musicians, including his grandfather, a concert cellist for the Dallas Symphony. Originally from Vermont, Bruce Isaacson started his career by moving to Texas at age 17 with his brothers, Peter and John, singer/songwriters and solo artists. He spent his formative years with them in large clubs and dance halls, singing backup harmonies and playing bass and drums. During these first eight years of his career, his influences were Peter and John, singers/songwriters Shake Russell, Willis Allen Ramsey, Michael Murphy, Joe Ely and Dana Cooper.

He then returned to Vermont, co-fronting a duo with brother John. He sang and played guitar and bass in small clubs, at concerts, and at outdoor festivals there over a period of 15 years.

Ten years ago, Bruce left Vermont in search of a warmer climate. For a year, he played as a solo and in a four-piece band in the Caribbean, including St. John's, St. Barth's and St. Thomas. He then went to the Florida Keys, working as a soloist in Tiki bars and small clubs. Here he came across Red Seidman, whose name and reputation he recalled from 25 years ago when they played in the same venues in Vermont. After a five-year friendship, they finally played together. Realizing they shared such a similar approach to their music, they knew they would be an ideal duo. They began working together at some of the most popular venues in the Florida Keys, including the Lor-e-lei and Morada Bay, both in Islamorada.

Their multi-faceted talents have proven to be a synergistic combination. Both Bruce and Red have extensive experience with songwriting, performance and studio production (Bruce owned a production company for over ten years, and Red had been a partner in a studio in the 1980's) ).

Bruce adds his talents as a stylist, arranger, lead vocalist and guitarist to Red's talents as a backup vocalist and soloist/instrumentalist (including fiddle, mandolin and guitar). Together they create a powerful, engaging performance with a unique sound.

Bruce has shared the stage with Dave Mason, Suzanne Vega, N.R.B.Q., Ronnie Millsap and Jon Anderson, just to name a few. Bruce and Red have performed together for over five years in Georgia, Florida, Virginia, and the Florida Keys, spending the majority of their stage time at the world-famous Hog’s Breath Saloon in Key West, Florida. Bruce released his seventh CD, Bruce Isaacson with Red Seidman: Live at the Hog's Breath Saloon, in 2004 and its accompanying DVD to satisfy the heavy and growing audience demand.

Red's list of credits reads like a "Who's Who" of professional music. Moving to the Ft. Lauderdale area in 1978 after several years in Montana, Red now divides his time between the Florida Keys, Oldtown, on the Suwannee river in north Florida and his cabin in the mountains of northern Georgia. During his 30+ year career he has been a street musician, hopped freight trains in Montana with slide guitar master "Dobro Dick" Dillof to get to gigs around the state, and on to sharing the stage with Alabama, George Jones, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Johnny Paycheck, Charlie Daniels, The Outlaws, Jon Anderson, Ricky Nelson, The Captain & Tenille, Ed Bruce, John Connelly, The Marshall Tucker Band (the original band!!) and many others as a member of one of South Florida's top country acts " The Hot Walker Band ".

He has toured and performed extensively throughout Europe, South America, Russia & Cuba as well as spending quality but memory challenged time in the Caribbean! Besides his fine fiddling, Red is equally at home on mandolin, acoustic and electric guitar (and bass), as well as lead and harmony vocals. His past studio credits include The Rockford Files, Miami Vice, Connie Francis, Chief James Billie, KISS Radio 99.9, Dave Feder, Case & Davidson, as well as commercials for Toyota, American Airlines, Aim Toothpaste and many, many others. He is currently on more than a dozen CD's by various artists and continues to do studio work when his schedule allows it!

In addition to his music, Red spends as much time on the water as he can. He trys to spend at least a few weeks fishing and sailing in the out islands of the Bahamas every year.

In the summer of 2005, Bruce and Red recorded their first studio cd at Treetop Studio in Ridgetop, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville,.with the legendary multiple Grammy award winning Tim Carter engineering and mixing, along with some of Nashville's finest studio players, including Dennis Wage (T. Graham Brown, overdubs.net) on keyboards, Rob Ickes on dobro (Blue Highway, Earl Scruggs Revue), Dan Sherrill & Dan Immels on drums and bass, respectively, Mike McAdams on guitar (Steve Earle, Kevin Montgomery Band), and special guest Kasper Gallie on guitar (imported from his regular New York studio gigs!).

Bruce and Red currently enjoy an arrangement that has them at the Hog's Breath Saloon, the best a
