"Carlini To Open for Plaskett, Elkas"

Believe me. At some point in space and time the name Bruce Carlini will be synonymous with watershed men like Bragg, Costello and Cobain. - The Trivial Mingler

"Intellectual Pop Man Shimmers"

His voice isn't the best thing since sliced bread, and his guitar playing certainly won't raise Hendrix from the dead. Yet, what melodies! In terms of lyrics I can name only a handful who top him. Keep an eye out... - Montreal Underground PX

Bio

Best known as singer/songwriter for indie rockers That Busboy Nelson, Carlini has established himself as one of the most promising up-and-coming artists in the burgeoning Montreal music scene.

Side projects include writing and performing on The NDG Basement All-Stars' single (Face It) which was included on Stomp Records' All Skanadian IV. In 2003 Carlini and Lo & the Magnetics guitar player Cris Raz cut two tracks under the Razolini banner. Carlini's earlier pop-punk trio (The Bogarts) were fairly prolific, landing opening slots for acts such as The Slackers and Dashboard Confessional, and headlining numerous smaller events in the interim. The Bogarts were runners-up in CBC's band search competition in 2002.

Carlini continues to perform with That Busboy Nelson in addition to working on an array of solo affairs. Most recently he opened for Canadian icon Joel Plaskett at Main Hall, Montreal in April. An upcoming EP is in the works, to be released on his label P.S. Records in the fall.
