Bio
Brulen, a pseudonym of Bruce Bierman, represents the first half of his first name, and the first part of the last name of his greatest influence and friend, rock legend John Lennon.
Known as Bruce to those in business, and Bru to his friends, Brulen is a multi-talented and self-educated established expert in several fields of endeavor, from music to engineering and computers to counter-surveillance.
He has engineered and toured with bands including the Grateful Dead, Hot Tuna, and Journey, and has top musicians working with him on his music. Having started playing music at an early age in New York City, he was introduced to the former Beatle at age 17, and was able to gain valuable songwriting and recording skills directly from Lennon, as can be heard on the tracks he performs.
Taking a detour of sorts to the computer business, being responsible for developing hibernation sleep mode technology which is built into every copy of Microsoft Windows, Brulen is now back to music, writing, recording, arranging and producing songs like ‘Little Bird’ and ‘Big Eyes,’ a song written for the 2009 movie of the same name.
His love for music has brought him full circle, right back to where he once belonged. That long and winding road has led him back to where his life started: singing, writing and playing songs.
