Bruz Newton

 When Bruz Newton was a kid friends compared him to Bruce Lee. He has now become a master of music and dance. As a kid he started making music by using a desk as a drum and singing along with his favorite songs.That developed his skills and  love for music. After recording his first song in 2015  he did not have the funds available to shoot a video and that temporarily delayed his dream. Things always happen according to God’s plan and in July of 2016  he met Collo, who is one of the biggest music legends in East Africa at a friends video shoot. From that meeting they were  able to collaborate and turn his song Bazokizo into one of the biggest songs in East Africa.

  A connection is also how Bruz Newton was able to land a deal with Black Market Records. When another friend of his hosted CEO of Black Market Records Ced Singleton on a trip Ced  took to Africa, Ced was introduced to the exciting music of Bruz Newton. After  experiencing his dynamic sound he signed him to Black Market Africa. Bruz Newton is now making a big impact on an international level with his new deal.

  Bruz Newton’s style can be defined as dance music or defined movement. He approaches his music from the view of a dancer. “Being a dancer, I’ve always thought about being the artist to the songs I danced to and how I would articulate them”, says Bruz, “So when the opportunity of me doing music came that’s where I fused the two, Music and Dance. 

  These two skills are inspired by one of the great artists that influenced him, Michael Jackson. “ I loved how detailed he was in audio, video, and stage”, says Bruz, “Everything he did was breathtaking”. Bruz Newton is reaching for greatness by following the path that Michael Jackson paved and at the pace he is going one day he will be considered a legend as well.

  He gets new ideas daily for his music and has worked with some of the biggest artists in Africa such as Collo from the Kleptomaniax which is the greatest legendary boy band and also Jegede, who is currently one of the biggest producers. His biggest songs so far have been Zigwembe and Bazokizo which has over 2.6 million views on youtube. With his new deal he has many hits in store for the world to enjoy. His album Defined Movement is set to be released on Black Market Africa in 2018.

  Bruz is from Nairobi, Kenya which is the capital of Kenya and also the central place for all of the tribes in the country which there is almost 54. There are a variety of different cultures to learn ideas from and Bruz has incorporated this into making his music great. Although he had a hard upbringing being that he was an orphan after his mother died, Bruz has preserved and put himself in a position to make a powerful impact with his music that will be felt across the globe.

 When it’s all said and done, Bruz Newton would like to be remembered as the man that never gave up on his dreams. He is humble and living God’s will. “You are not in this to live and die says Bruz, you are a solution to a problem, it might not be yours, but try to solve another person’s problem and see yours go away. God is a big part of his life and he believes that with God in your life nothing will ever go wrong. “I think the keys to success are to never kill the dream, as much as your environment is not promising, learn to hold and work for that dream, because God sees your struggles and one day He will make that dream a reality”, says Bruz.
