WAFF 48 News' Jeanie Powell scores exclusive new music video with Valley ties

"Even if it Breaks My Heart" is a powerful country song that just hit radio only few weeks ago, but it's yet to hit the TV airwaves, until now.
Sunday, WAFF 48's Jeanie Powell nabbed a huge exclusive and was the first journalist to showcase a country music video featured with local heroes from the Heart of the Valley.
Nashville Country Music Star Bryan Lee and his manager Rodney Powell, who is based in the Huntsville area, came to our studios for an exclusive look of their music video.
A good portion of it was shot right here in the Valley, with participation from local first responders.
Sunday, Lee got his first look at the edited version, as did we.
WAFF 48 News and Rainwater Films want to share with our viewers here in the Valley, the inspiration behind the song and the artist, before it even hits the big country outlets.
Nashville hit makers Craig Wiseman and Jeffrey Steele are the writers behind this powerful song that deals with loss and remembering those who have gone to a better place.
Rodney Powell helped shoot most of the video in at Valhalla Memory Gardens in Huntsville and the Madison County Training Center, using the Moores Mill Volunteer Fire Fighters and Huntsville Police officers.
Powell is the director of a brand new music video, and manager of a hot country artist.
The scenario of the video centers around a man losing his wife in a car accident involving a drunk driver, leaving her husband and children grieving.
Artist Bryan Lee's own children were used to portray those roles, so it was an emotional journey for him to cope with the thought he could lose his wife.
"It would break my heart," says Lee.
Ironically, that goes hand-in-hand with the title of the song, "Even if it Breaks My Heart."
Bryan Lee was also a former law enforcement officer of 10 years and this song hit close to home for him, after losing two of his friends.
Many will have their own perceptions of this video.
It's about coping with loss and remembering.
Sunday night, the music video was aired for the first time ever on WAFF 48 News.
The creators wanted people here in the Valley to see it first.
Bryan Lee's album "No Matter What," will hit stores March 2008.

BRYAN LEE
No Matter What
Bryan Lee grew up in the heartland of America in a small Illinois town. While he would be the first to say he doesn’t know much about West or East coast living, he does know a little something about what every human being longs for and holds sacred- Love. Weather it’s the steadfast resolve of a man to love unconditionally in the Craig Wiseman/ Jeffrey Steele penned song, “Even If It Breaks My Heart” to the bittersweet sense of what could-have-been captured in, “I Did in Dallas”. Lee sings about the one thing that every man and woman alive can relate to in one way or another.
“I’m not a romantic man by nature,” says Lee, but if it’s a could-have-been, never should-have-been, or you rock my world, I like singing about it. It doesn’t matter who you are, everybody wrestles with love sometime”.
With his boyish good looks, great sense of humor, and easy smile, Lee is straightforward about what moves him. His wife and three daughters top the list. And music ranks right up there in the top 3. He’s been singing and playing guitar since he was 10 years old and continued to play in different local rock and country bands throughout his childhood and college years. It didn’t occur to him until after trying several other career paths that music was what he was meant to do, and he is determined to live out his dream.
“To me, the measure of a man isn’t what he wears or how good he looks, it is character”. What does he devote his time and energy to? For me it’s my family, and I don’t think I’m the only man in America who takes pride in working hard and hopefully, in the process, leaving the world a better place than when I got here”.
To this day Lee applies that same work ethic to his music career. Exactly ten years after his honeymoon in Nashville, Lee and his family moved to music city so he could more earnestly pursue music. Once he arrived he started playing in local clubs from the Wildhorse Saloon to the world famous Tootsies. It was while singing in the Nashville County Show that he met producer and guitar extraordinaire, Kent Wells, who has produced and played for Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, Reba McEntire, Hank Williams Jr., Keith Whitley, Brooks & Dunn and others. The two struck up a friendship that eventually evolved into Wells producing and recording Lee’s debut album.
Using top-notch writers like Jeffrey Steele, Craig Wiseman, Rivers Rutherford, Larry Stewart, Drew Womack, Liz Rose, Dave Berg, Deanna Bryant, and Wyatt Easterling, to mention a few, the album’s themes run from love to loss. The subtle southern accent of Lee’s tenor voice easily moves from the passionate “Let it Pour” to the tenderness in which he lists the million and one reasons why, “She’s Everything”.
His first single and video to be released this year on NCA Records is, “Even if It Breaks My Heart,” written by Craig Wiseman and Jeffrey Steele.
