Bio

Born and raised in Kinston, North Carolina, Bryan Malpass has had a passion for singing since performing in a 1st grade talent show. He progressed from school events, to singing at fundraisers, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Performing Arts Theatre. Then in 2001, Bryan joined Legends Live and began performing throughout the Southeast at parties, festivals, fundraisers and such. He also participated in American Talent Showcase twice yearly, continuing with both Legends and ATS through 2006. After winning free studio time at the age of 12, Bryan chose to record songs by Creed and The Calling, showing his early propensity for rock music. At 14 Bryan started playing the guitar, and then during his Junior year of high school, he and a group of friends formed a band, and began playing in clubs around North Carolina. This led him to start writing music for the band to perform, and they eventually recorded a 3-song demo. Bryan had been a starting member of the football team for 9 years, but the summer between his Junior and Senior year he had to make a choice between pursuing music or football. The choice was obvious for him, and music won out. In October, 2006, Bryan signed a management contract with Glenda Robinson of Amplified M.P.R. and began writing and recording songs for his first solo album. Working with renowned record producer Billy Chapin, he spent most of his Senior year dividing his time between high school in North Carolina and recording his album in Florida. After graduating in June, 2007, Bryan made the move to Florida to complete the album and begin performing live. His debut cd “All Things Considered” was released in August, 2007. The album includes original songs written by artists such as Edwin McCain, Stan Lynch (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers), Mike Shimshack, Marc Swersky, and Charlie Midnight, along with the songs that Bryan himself contributed. Bryan’s goal is now to be able to travel the world performing his own unique style of rock music for audiences everywhere. With a strong work ethic, a passion for music, and unwavering focus, Bryan is on the brink of making all of his dreams come true.
