The best kept secret in music
Press
This kaleidoscopic art pop concept album harkens back to the days of Sgt. Pepper and its brethren, combining undeniably catchy melodies and innovative songcraft with sweeping arrangements and a gloriously eccentric imagination. Recorded by Bryan Scary alone in his Brooklyn apartment, "The Shredding Tears" is a true original, a fuming new vision of rock's potential, and essential listening for fans of The Beatles, Queen, XTC, and The Fiery Furnaces. - Amazon.com

Bio
Bryan Scary and the Shredding Tears
BRYAN SCARY and his band, THE SHREDDING TEARS, bring you psychedelic indie-pop from another dimension. Abounding with hooks, stories, dynamic arrangements, and strangely infectious lyrics, the band has rightfully earned comparison to late-period Beatles, Queen, XTC, and The Kinks.
BRYAN SCARYs debut album shares the pseudonym of his bandmates, THE SHREDDING TEARS. The 15 track concept album shifts genres with encyclopedic aplomb, veering from 60s psychedelia to glam rock to chamber pop to prog rock to musical theatre, all smashed together into a uniquely *scary* vision of pop musics potential. BRYAN played all the instruments on the record; the drums were that of Jeremy Black from Apollo Sunshine. In addition, the mix was performed by Brian McTear at Miner Street Studio in Philadelphia, and mastered by Paul Hammond and Paul Sinclair.
The group plan to support the Black and Greene Records release with a North East tour beginning this October. Be prepared to witness an intensified level of craft and energy that is already championed on recordings. BRYAN SCARY AND THE SHREDDING TEARS is sure to be wildly engaging and theatrical for all.
