This CD is full of wonderful music. Bryan's songs display a wide range of emotions, from serene to playful to slightly menacing/forlorn. Iceland, and its darker variation on a theme, Greenland, are so open and lilting, they make me feel like I'm flying. The relatively minimalist Tumbleweed is perfectly soothing. Lastly, the slide guitar in Innocence and Badwater (my personal favorite!) are particularly effective in capturing the mood, and the combination finger-picking and slide is so alluring. I'm not generally a solo guitar kind of gal (or really, a guitar gal at all!), but since I got this CD I have been listening to it non-stop! Fantastic job!! - CD Baby
Contemporary acoustic guitar music frequently features songs that too readily 'force' an emotional response (a flaw no doubt carried over from the New Age genre from which it often borrows), and is captured by production that seems more interested in lulling the listening into sleep than in presenting a dynamic reproduction of the player's work. This album avoids these pitfalls entirely, offering a collection of songs with enough tonal, stylistic and thematic variety to hold the listener's attention throughout. Moreover, the songs are actually memorable, and highly so, further setting themselves apart from a good portion of the pack. This is a fine collection of well-written and expertly performed songs, tastefully produced and beautifully packaged. Bravo. - CD Baby
