"It's not a party without you, Bryce."

Biography

Born in Alexandria, Virginia, Bryce moved at age 7 to Long Island, NY, but it wasn’t until after high school that his growing interest in making music really became a passion. He learned to play mostly through his own compositions, and thus developed a very unique rhythm-oriented style of playing that is a real conglomeration of rock and R&B styles.

For the past nine years, Bryce has fronted the Long Island-based band, Stealing Jane, a hard hitting, horn-laden, groove-happy pop rock band that has made a name for itself within the New York scene, as well as New England and beyond. With two releases under their belt, the band seems poised for greatness.

Bryce has also kept busy as a solo artist, performing acoustically as well as releasing the fantastic full-length album, Sport Of Kings. Citing influences from Jack Johnson, Dave Matthews, & Stevie Wonder to Elvis Costello, Frank Sinatra, and Bob Marley, Bryce (both within and without the band) weaves his influences into a musical tapestry that is all his own. Highlights of the album include the jazzy opener, “Sting”, the breezy “Barefeet”, and the album-closing cover of Elvis Costello’s, “Big Sister’s Clothes”.

Lyrics

So Here's To Hoping

Written By: Bryce Larsen

And when you’re finished with the world,
Come on and have a drink with me,
And tell me all about the girls
And all the places I’ll never see
So here’s to hoping that the world is gonna know your name
God knows they don’t know mine,
Don’t worry don’t even think about me when you’re on your own
But when you get home, famous or alone,
This is still your song.

I know you never did belong
To the crowd that watches life go by,
Because I raised you up to be,
The kind of man that I wish that I could be
So here’s to hoping that the world is gonna know your name,
God knows they’ve never heard mine,
You can’t imagine all the pride I feel to see you try,
But when you get home, famous or alone,
Remember this song.

I’ll understand if we miss that drink because you know it all takes time.
And it won’t be long till I’m,
Gone and pulling for you in the sky.

So here’s to hoping that the world is gonna know your name
God knows they don’t know mine
You can’t imagine all the pride I feel to see you try.
So to help you get by, with a courage in your eyes,
To help you get by with a power in your stride,
To help you get by even after I die,
I wrote you this song.

These Streets

Written By: Bryce Larsen

I just hope that my worn down legs,
Can carry me to a place where I can rest.
I just hope that my punch drunk mind,
Still has the strength to reason with my body.

Oh God, it seems like there’s so much more going on,
Here in these streets,
Than you could ever lay your eyes on.

You’ve given me nothing at all,
But I’ve made form it everything I have
And You know I deserve more than this,
But they take from me. Oh they take from me.

Chemicals flow, meant to ease my pain,
But only serve well to decimate my body,
And every breath drawn only aids my self-hate,
And hardens my heart to let the sin surround me

Oh god it seems like there’s so much more going wrong,
Here in these streets,
Than you could ever lay your hands on.

You’ve given me nothing at all,
But I’ve made form it everything I have
And You know I deserve more than this,
But they take from me. Oh they take from me.

Every punch thrown, towards a friend or a foe,
Can never repair the emptiness that binds me.
They say every lost soul, truly wants to be found,
But somehow I doubt that you could ever find me.

You’ve given me nothing at all,
But I’ve made form it everything I have
And You know I deserve more than this,
But they take from me. Oh they take from me.

You’ve given me nothing at all,
But I’ve made form it everything I have
And You know I deserve more than this,
But they take from me. Oh they take from me.

Cigarettes

Written By: Bryce Larsen

She always smells like cigarettes,
But I’ve never seen her smoke.
She thinks that I don’t like that sort of thing
So she hides so I don’t know.
But the mask she wears is so damn thick,
It’s easy to see it’s there.
And I still can’t see who she’d really be
If the whole façade laid bare

She was born to be a liar
And she’s goddamn good at it too.
She’s got the whole world and herself
Wondering which way the girl’s gonna go,
And I don’t know,
If I can get her to drop this show.

She dances like the movies,
Giving the guys what they wanna see.
Oh she enjoys the boys eyes and ravenous stares
Aint much of a mystery
But the mask she wears is so damn thick,
It’s easy to see it’s there.
And I still can’t see who she’d really be
If the whole façade laid bare

She was born to be a liar
And she’s goddamn good at it too.
She’s got the whole world and herself
Wondering which way the girl’s gonna go,
And I don’t know,
If I can get her to drop this show.

And it’s killing me,
I know that I should let her go,
But something about this aint so easy…
