"Christchurch Big Camp concert review - 2011"

“Bryce Wastney’s performance in Christchurch in early January 2011, for a conservative Christian audience of some 600 people, was warmly received & enjoyed by all, young and old alike. Bryce and his beautiful accompaniment Aly, were able to create a very relaxed, entertaining and enjoyable atmosphere as they performed some well known songs of worship, along with many of Bryce’s own pieces of music that reflected his own life journey. I highly recommend this talented young musician”
- Craig Gilles. President of Seventh Day Adventist Church Conference NZ

His style is smooth, emotive, and authentic. Bryce's stage craft is well honed as he performs both solo + with a backing band. Ideal for all types of venues & festival situations.

New Zealanders are world famous for their innovation and ‘’just do it‘’ attitude, and Bryce is no exception. Raised in an environment where he was encouraged to explore his creativity, from working in his father’s joinery factory in Nelson NZ, building r/c planes, surfboards, sailing yachts.

Bryce worked as a qualified boatbuilder but unf had to battle a year of toxic poisoning from the fibreglass fumes, and decided to sail his creative pathways in another direction. Skills learnt have helped him apply his hard working & professional approach to songwriting & survival in the music industry as a full time independent artist for over 6 yrs.

Bryce has a huge passion for helping young people, and is involved in many charity events in both NZ & Australia incl youth organizations (Bridge Builders in Melbourne) & is a key TEAR fund / Compassion artist, recently completing his 2nd TEAR fund NZ tour in Sept 2011 with a backing band, sharing the message of child education & healthcare sponsorship in oppressed countries. Something very close to his heart.

He has released a well respected debut album titled ‘A Perfect Day For Travel’. Jam packed with tasty songs, and a big sound, this album has sold well + gained favorable reviews.

6 songs off this album feature alongside Cat Stevens, in the multi award winning NZ feature surf film – Last Paradise.

The first single is a duet called ‘Surf the Sky’, featuring sultry vocals of NZ country & blues singer Aly Cook. The music video was produced by TVNZ editor Paul Sparkes, and shows the breath taking hang gliding scenes off Last Paradise film, with the artist shots filmed in the epic cliff tops in the heart of the South Island of New Zealand.

With a passion for live performance, Bryce has gigged everywhere from luxury cruise ships to churches, from intimate venues, headlined winery events to major festivals.

Born with natural ability to connect with any audience, 3 years, he has been invited to mc acts on main stage at WOMAD festival, in NZ (80,000 ppl)

An accomplished guitarist in his own right, he has developed his unique style, and is proudly endorsed by NZ’s largest music store – Musicworks.

You can hear it in his voice – his music comes from a very deep place, and makes you feel good about facing the day.

With a great story up his sleeve and trusty acoustic in hand, Bryce is at home on the stage. He performs both solo and with his super talented backing band.
