Bio

Brynn Mawr is a petite, sweet, bold, and powerful young songwriter in the world of folk music today and her crystal clear appalachian voice offers listeners shivers & goosebumps with every line. A fan once compared her voice to the "perfect peanut butter & jelly sandwich" and Radio Free Chicago has pegged her as "thoroughly entertaining”. Having recently completed a seven week tour of the United States with Katelyn Cohen (mandolin) funded entirely by fans, busking on the street, and shows she can now say she’s played in venues coast to coast. As we enter a new phase in the music industry there is no doubt that Brynn Mawr, standing at a respectable 4’10, has a place here. This vocal powerhouse with songwriting skills reminiscent of Norah Jones, Joan Baez and The Swell Season was raised in both San Diego and Los Angeles, California surrounded by theater, live music, and dance. Her mother fondly remembers that “ as soon as she could fit her hands around a guitar or reach her feet to the piano peddles she has been creating music”. In 2007 she graduated high school a full year early, moved to Chicago to study music business, and began her adventure as a musician. Now a graduate of Columbia College's music business program Brynn is ready to travel the country to pursue her talent. While she may be a small fish in a rather large pond she is turning heads with her stunning phrasing, vocal ability, soul, and genuine desire to connect with others through music. She really is a unique gem among stones.
