A neuroscientist by day, the compulsive Switzerland-based singer-songwriter Bryyn frequently resorts to all-nighters to churn out a new song. Bryyn’s quirky brew of moog and acoustic melodies overlaid with warm vocals conjures comparisons to the intimate voicing of Sufjan Stevens and the pop hook of Simon and Garfunkel.

And despite the demands of his day gig, Bryyn’s frenzy for composing is only matched by his song count and ever growing audience. To date he has written and self-recorded more than 250 songs from his instrument-strewn hideout (all of which are free for download at bryyn.com).

People are listening in. Bryyn.com has received over 5 million song downloads and listeners on Jamendo.com, the world’s leading legal free music download site, cited Bryyn as one of its Top 10 artists from more than 20,000. Frostwire.com (ex-limewire) featured Bryyn’s ‘House Plants’ album for free download and it received over 150,000 in the first week and was selected for their top 10 artist mixtape in 2011. Bryyn won honors as a top 5 singer-songwriter finalist in the Brooklyn-based Mountain Stage NewSong music competition and joined the ad-hoc family of premier Berlin-based netlabel Aaahh Records in 2010.
