Billy the Kid

Billy the Kid

BandPopPunk

Billy The Kid are 4 schoolmates from California who deliver high-energy pop-punk music with a classic rock influence. Our music is described as being similar to Green Day or The Who. The band puts forth energy-driven pop songs, entertaining stage presence, and an overall sense of professionalism.

Biography

Billy The Kid began their musical journey as 7th graders at the same grammar school who all happened to play instruments. Though the band was not expected to last more than a few months, they had such a passion for performing that they have stuck together longer than anyone, including themselves, ever thought they would. Drawing from a wide range musical influences, such as Green Day, The Rolling Stones, The Ramones, The Who, The Beatles, Weezer, Rancid, Johnny Cash, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers, the band combines the timeless style of classic rock from the past with today's pop-punk and powerpop genres. The result is pure energy-driven pop music, with a fun style that is reflected in the bands acclaimed and entertaining live performances. Now in their junior year in high school, Billy The Kid has since released one four track EP, and, more recently, their 12-track debut album, "Nefarious Evildoings". The name of this new album pays tribute to the band's fun and humorous style throughout the songs, but also the undeniably fiendish and mischevious undertones that add the most important element to Billy The Kid's music: ORIGINALITY. Billy The Kid is not a typical pop punk band, since they cover much more ground in their songwriting than simply songs about love. The songs on the album cover topics such as: fictional wars of pirates fighting ninjas, video-game kids, time travel, anger and frustration surrounding love, and a whole more. This is what makes Billy The Kid truly unique. In addition to having played countless venues in the band's existence, Billy The Kid has had the honor of opening for world-famous punk band The Tubes, opening the ceremony of the 2007 San Jose Rocks! Hall of Fame Induction, and, in matter of months, a very high-paying gig at AT&T Park!!! So next time you're looking for that certain band to perform at your event who will entertain and impress your audiences, please don't hesitate to choose Billy The Kid! Thank you very much for reading this!!

Lyrics

Kelly's Got Karma

Written By: Johnny Villar

I woke up today to a brand new year
Turned on my radio and said "Let's get it started in here"
We don't need anyone to come here and ruin a little fun
I tell my friends, "step on the overdrive"
It's time to go for a little ride
I've got to make it to my ex-girl's house
before somebody finds her out

Running up and down your street
wondering where you might be
Running up and down your block
'Cuz I think we need to talk

And now I know you're everything I ever wanted
And even though I'm broken hearted, you can't stop me
Every night I see you in my dreams
I wake up to the sound of laughter
A happy ever after
Back to reality, and it's not easy being me

Kelly's got eyes that I never ever see
'Cuz I'm looking at her body when she's talking to me
I see her on the avenue I see her in the mall
But I don't think she ever sees me at all
Kelly's got karma, but she's looking fine
I would love to love her, but I don't have the time
She makes me feel better when the world's no fun
Wouldn't it be nice if I could be her only one?
---
And this time I'm gonna turn this thing around
And this time, I'm gonna bring you down
I wrote a letter the day after I met her
And told her that I hate her.
Am I the only one who knows that love will get you down?
Have to call her every day now
And pay for her so she won't think you're lame
You girls are all the same.

Even Though The Title's Long, This Is Not An Emo Song

Written By: Robert Boscacci; Johnny Villar

And now we're looking at the ground
and we're not making a sound
'cuz we've got too much to lose
so we're staring at our shoes.

Sit tight, don't freak out.
Where the money is isn't what it's all about
You and I
We didn't even try much harder than
apple pie
what's easier?
take your time:
Do with it what you will
You know I'm willing to kill
Do with it what you like
I'm back again to psych you out
---
Looking at the world from my garage
Life is always clear when you're stuck in the mosh.
You broke my little heart, you stupid ugly girl!
You like to cause trouble in a sick, dark world
Sit and dwell
Life is such a living hell
And this world's so sore
I can't take this city any more.
---
And I want you to know
That I want you to know
That I'm never gonna know about love

Noobz

Written By: Johnny Villar and Robert Boscacci

There's no instructions but there's rules
We'll have to bounce around like fools
Before we figure this out.
Time doesn't mean much to me
I'll procrastinate 'till two or three A.M. doing nothing.
---
We're such noobz
Ain't got no skillz
Take our pills and pay our bills
We're flippin noobz
We live with our moms
Do what we choose
And play with our bombs
Nobody walks to us, and we watch the fight
Tomorrow will not be alright
It's getting better all the time
---
When you get bored you kick a can
You sit around and play Pac-Man
Until you rot your brains right out
You see the emos on the slide
They make you wanna run and hide.
Oh my!
---
It's getting better all the tiiiiiiiiiiiime
