"Caribbean Eyes"

Over the years Bubba B has become a household name within the Caribbean community of Calgary. His achievements and accomplishments are outstanding.

He is an acclaimed rap artist and was the first recipient of Alberta Black Achievement Award for the Performing Arts.

While growing up , Bubba listened to all kinds of music, especially the music his father listened to, such as calypso, Rhythm & Blues, Rock and Roll and soft music. In 1982, the aspiring musician fell in love with hip-hop while driving in the car with his father and little sister when a song called "The Freaks Come Out At Night,' from the album Whodini, came over the Radio.

...

As an ambassador of the Caribbean community Bubba B vows to set an example for Caribbean-Canadian youths, encouraging them to "Dream Big Dream, cause little Dreams Have no Magic." Respect comes by the quality of what a person does and how others perceives that person to be and Bubba B has earned his respect. With his dedication, perseverance and dreams, Bubba has made waves and progressed through life. Today Bubba McLean is a role model others could look up to. - Cariwave, The Caribbean Magazine
