Ryan’s obsession with electronic music began in the early 90’s when he discovered and began listening to mix tapes and live weekend broadcasts from local Houston DJs. Not old enough to enjoy the club scene, he began attending underground warehouse rave parties and was introduced to acid house and some of the early forms of drum and bass. Having taken piano lessons at an early age inspired him to save enough money to buy his first synthesizer keyboard, with which he began to explore the infinite sound presets and saw the limitless possibilities of what electronic music has to offer. He began bringing the keyboard to high school parties and constructing beats for aspiring rappers to showcase their talent.
During his first year of college in 1998, Ryan got a job as a pizza delivery driver in which he saved enough money to buy his first set of turntables and a mixer. He would then start his record collection by skipping his college classes and visiting record stores across the Houston area trading in pizza tips for fresh vinyl. He began DJing every chance he got at house parties which eventually landed him a Sunday night weekly residency at VQ Live, a night club on the South side of Houston. Meanwhile, an older brother of a friend began to construct his own company called BigTime Productions in which Ryan was invited to join as one of their featured DJs. He spun along side of some of the most worldwide known DJs at massive parties all around Texas and Cancun, Mexico. Well known for his marathon sets, Ryan would sometimes keep the party going well into the afternoon of the next day, sometimes 15 to 20 consecutive hours.
He has since then moved to the South Austin area after finishing up his last years of college with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business at Texas State University in San Marcos. The love for dance music has stuck with him throughout these years as he has kept up with the forever evolving music and trends of the scene. Ryan made the switch from vinyl to digital DJ and began building his home studio from the ground up. He has started experimenting with MIDI and production software to begin developing his own music. He has continued to perform at private parties, and sets up and does shows whenever and wherever he can, including at campsites in New Braunfels and party barges on Lake Travis.
