Bio

B.U.D. has grown to truly be one of Seattle’s most captivating speakers. Whether it’s conversing frankly with a room full of youth about the positive side of staying in school and following their dreams, or moving hundreds at one of his concerts, audiences are engrossed by his words. On April 10th, 2010, he delivered his potent and highly anticipated LP, Chronic Illness.
“This album displays different levels in my life”, B.U.D. says of his new project. “I just want to let everyone know I am coming out, and that I am going to answer a lot of questions in the music. It’s intense and insightful; it’s gonna change the view of Seattle music and it’s me at my best.”
Chronic Illness’s title is a direct reference to B.U.D.’s goal of having great longevity in music business- a mentality he feels many artists make the big mistake of overlooking. It is that type of thinking that gives the album such diversity as B.U.D. made great efforts to create music for everyone.
“A lot of artists out now have lost the passion for creating timeless music. I have always been enamored how artists like Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, Run DMC, etc.; have music that can be played 20 years after it was released and still have the same effect. I strive to be that type of artist.”
The new albums official lead single is the #1 smash “Ice Cold,” a creative glance into the world of beautiful independent woman. Produced by acclaimed hitmaker Kevin Gardner, the jubilation take us to a place where the only thing more abundant than B.U.D.’s buzz, is his limitless flow of rhyme and melody.
“In so many of my records I’ve crafted that address women, they have always catered to me. In this particular record, I wanted to show my appreciation and reverse the roles a little. I tell the ladies don’t worry; the sky is the limit. No desire is too great. You are just as valuable as men in this society.”
