"Spotify presents RapCaviar Live at Houston's Revention Music Center"

...YBN Namir followed the H-Town opening set. The 17-year-old Birmingham, Alabama rapper hit the crowd with his popular track "Rubbin Off The Paint".

Of course no Houston rap show would be complete without the crowd favorite DJ Mr. Rogers, who was a perfect transition between the opening acts and the headliners. His fellow Relief Gang boss Trae Tha Truth also hit the stage with a mix of his classics as well as a couple of new tracks.

Bun B came back to the stage to perform a short set, and then introduced a few of his special guests. The first was Briargate's Buddie Roe, fresh off his win at the Houston Rap Battle lyricist competition. Cal-Wayne followed with some hard-hitting flows, and then the OG freestyle king E.S.G. finished the set. - Houston Chronicle

"Watch BuddieRoe's "Southside Basquiat" Video » Day & A Dream"

BuddieRoe wants to be a shot caller. He’s going to convince the world before its all said and done.
Star-making usually happens in competition. When SF2 held Kickback Sundays, it opened Houston up to the likes of KAB Tha Don, KDOGG, Lyric Michelle, City Chronicles and more. It also firmly planted Doughbeezy as one of the next artists on the rise. Sure enough, years later, competition is making new stars out of Houston’s hungry rap class. Tonight, it’s proving time.

Doughbeezy’s H-Town Rap Battle concludes its inaugural season with the finals, pitting LiveNLearn from Alief by way of Oakland, California against established competition veteran 2Raw, KAB Tha Don, KDOGG, and BuddieRoe. BuddieRoe, the “Southside Basquait” if you will, represents the same blocks and stretches of land that compose Mo City. Not Missouri City, Mo City.

Jagged home design usually masks the ups and downs of the Mo. BuddieRoe with a chipped tooth and a smile can tell you about the good days and bad. “Southside Basquait,” his latest single is a clever nod to painting pictures. Good, bad and even significant. “When you know you broke, you go for broke / Time is coming, when you know you know,” he raps on the song’s first verse. The song is littered with stories about friends coping big wheels, living just to make your liver pray for another day and more. The video? A true home affair. Everybody is outside. Everybody wants to be a star.

BuddieRoe wants to prove he already is one. Watch the “Southside Basquait” video from BuddieRoe below. Catch the finals of the H-Town Rap Battle tonight at 2201 Preston St. - Day & A Dream

"BuddieRoe's New Single "What It Mean?" Tackles Gun Violence and Loss of Friends"

"What It Mean?", the latest single by underground Houston rapper BuddieRoe, tackles the artist's frustration with rampant gun violence in his community and his own loss of friends. The emotional track is a sonic departure for Roe, whose mellow and poetic projects have stayed away from such raw, untethered energy in the past.

"I believe it's a different side of me," says Buddie, "more energy, pure emotion." - Houston Press
