"OurStage: Buildings Breeding"

...Buildings Breeding is concerned primarily with those sociological difficulties that have nothing to do with bricks and mortar in the song, “Stacking Up Reasons,” a hot flash of folkish indie rock... with its drafty, almost Rogue Wave flutter and its concise execution – a perfect pop song in two-minutes, 19-seconds. - Daytrotter

Bio

Buildings Breeding was never meant to be a real band. Their songs were
created as a bunch of love letters Christapher Larsen made for Melanie
Glover while she was overseas. Buildings Breeding settled in as a fake
myspace.com band from Chicago featuring four members — all alias for
Larsen.
With great response, the band finally took its live form in April 2006
in Davis, California with Chris Larsen (vocals, guitar), Melanie
Glover (drums, vocals), Evan Hart (guitar) and Chris Vogel (bass), who
later joined in August 2007. Playing gigs locally for a short time
before gaining national attention, the group was picked up by New
York-based label Mushpot Records and after joining up with Fanatic
Promotion, their self-titled LP Buildings Breeding debuted at #6 for
most adds in College Music Journal's Top 200 chart, staying in the Top
100 for over two months.
Flooding the blogger world with critical acclaim with their first
release, Buildings Breeding was dubbed "the world's biggest band this
week" by blog site idolator.com, among other positive titles, and had
their song "Stacking Up Reasons" featured on MTV's show "Human Giant."
By March 2007 the group had gone on two smaller U.S. tours, ultimately
leading them to South by Southwest. Following their LP, Buildings
Breeding released an E.P. titled Beesting on Larsen and Glover's own
label Bearded Beauty.
The group has just finished their latest recording, the
much-anticipated follow-up of the self-titled album — A Great
Divorce,
produced and recorded by Aaron Prellwitz (producer, Sun Kil Moon) at
John Vanderslice's Tiny Telephone studio in San Francisco. Eager to
tour, Buildings Breeding is currently on the lookout for a great label
to make their new home.
