Stemming from past bands Pasha, Mentat de Malduit, We're From Japan, Desert City Soundtrack, and en Filora, Built by Giants came together in the spring of 2005 as a three-piece writing dark, instrumental music with a mix of influences including Shiner, ISIS, Season to Risk, and June of 44. Aaron Freeman joined the band in January of 2007, adding a vocal presence, samples, and a gravely throat, resulting in a new non-metal metal post-hardcore blend.
