Bio

Born on March 14th 1988, He was raised in Southwest, Southeast D.C. and Suitland M.d.
During his early childhood years he was introduced to music by hearing his parents groove to Oldie but goodies, Blues, r and b and Go-go music. He is the youngest child of his older brother and two sisters. Kalvin and his family enjoyed music very much, they would have singing sessions every night after dinner, sometimes they would even have family to come over and watch them perform and listen to music. Kalvin gained the nickname bud from his oldest sister who would make him watch the Cosby show and pretend to be bud while she played Rudy! Bud mostly smiled and adapted an old soul from music. Some of his favorites were the talented Al Green, Marvin Gaye, Micheal Jackson, Chuck Brown along with a host of others. He awoke many mornings in southwest D.C. during the springtime to friendship middle school parades. He and his older brother wanted to be part of the music association badly, they would run out of the house and follow the bands and parade all the way through Alabama Ave. Bud always found himself listening and watching the older crew’s form their rap and Go-go groups in the early 90s, one that was his favorite was the Winn Gate crew formerly known as the garden boys and also that Oak Park crew. At the time of these groups forming, the radio was playing Junkyard and Rare essence Go-go, not to mention that “Chuck” or Trouble Funk. Bud had an ear for music, so instead him playing around outside, he and his friends started collecting instruments the ghetto fabulous way by using trash cans and sticks playing like professionals. Family and friends were not shocked by buds talent but knew that he would someday go far sharing it. They were delighted and supportive of his gifts in music. As he grew older and went to church, it was a must in his home that he served the lord and sung in the choir, bud was always making fun of the songs saying that they were old and they needed to syce the beats, his input became hands on, he moved through every instrument at practices from the drums to guitar, to the piano and the congo’s, bud made a tremendous impact on the youth choir and they loved every bit of it. When Bud was about 15 years old he relocated to Suitland and Whitehall square also Forestville and Forest Creek crews, he became affiliated with Under Estimated Band aka UEB. He was a multitask instrument player, playing the congo’s and all percussions, he then grew a crave to speak on the mic (microphone), as he started to hype the audience he grew fluent fast because of their reaction, Bud said “it was just going with the crowd for him”. He saw the moves they did and made a voice for it. He said it was a remarkable feeling to see generations get happy and release stress from his lyrics and beats. Bud then started to face social delimas with the neighborhoods, hype and ego’s which allowed him to end up in jail. He faced time that would only encourage him to make a decision to be for the music or for the streets. Of course he realized what being taken from freedom and liberty felt like because of his punishing sentence. It was an eye opener that he had to experience he said because of his arrogance, he became humble and developed a sense of manhood that he needed for his gift to be able to express freedom, pain, excitement, joy, and even sorrow, because he pays close attention to the gift of life, generations and trends he will be able to continually birth music with his gifts. Today Bud is working with Kenneth aka KG the CEO of We Crank ent the vice president of FMG East. Bud currently goes by the name Bukz because of his trendy style and his money motivation toward success in music. He is now a great fulltime barber, brother, mentor, self- promoter, uncle and producer seeking to be educated with guidance and wisdom for the industry.
