Bullet For Dali

Bullet For Dali

BandEDMPunk

Have you heard that album written by The Cure and The Stranglers that was remixed by New Order? No you haven't but, if it existed, then that album would sound like Bullet for Dali.

Biography

Downtown Los Angeles is not known for its glamour. However, between skid row and strip joints you will find warehouses hosting massive art openings. Bullet for Dali began when members of a local art collective (S.E.C.S.) decided to combine their talents. After an extensive search for the right musicians to complete their vision, Bullet For Dali resulted in a post-punk electronic sextet.

Bullet for Dali can be found playing the stages of local LA clubs The Key Club, The Knitting Factory, Spaceland, The Scene Bar, The Hear Gallery, 14 Below, Vertigo's, The Prospector, and of course many Downtown loft art parties as can be expected from this group.

Bullet for Dali have shared stages from San Diego, California to Tacoma, Washington with local favorites Airborne Toxic Event, War Tapes, The Tender Box, Buddy Akai, Kill Me Tomorrow, Gliss, The Pacific, Glass Candy, Veil Veil Vanish, Regime Noir, The Monthlies and Idyllists just to name a few.

Bullet for Dali are playing shows to support their recently released debut E.P. Diffical Techniculties.
Tracks "These Walls" and "System Error" from this EP have been featured on radio station WZNZ in Jacksonville Florida. The EP's single “Eulogy” is on regular rotation at several indie clubs in the Los Angeles area.

Lyrics

Eulogy

Written By: Ray

Feverish, to feeling indifferent
All that I want to keep is keeping me down
Second best and idoled be all the rest
All that I want to keep is sleeping around

Lighting her cigarette twice
She says "baby, it's hard to be nice"
We're going to dance to a funeral and back
We're going to dance to a funeral and back

Consequence, would not affect confidence
I know there's more to things than is meeting your eyes
Death of friends, a severance paid again
I know there's more to things than dead or alive

Lighting her cigarette twice
She says "baby, it's hard to be nice"
We're going to dance to a funeral and back
We're going to dance we're going to dance

Precious flesh, you know we would kill for it
You know there's more to things than is meeting you eyes
Dressed and bent, I'm ready to bury it
You know there's more to things, than dead or alive

Lighting her cigarette twice
She says "baby, it's hard to be nice"
We're going to dance to a funeral and back
We're going to dance we're going to dance...oh no oh no.

Rise Or Burn

Written By: Deseo

Snowflakes trickle down through frozen air.
While bitter air embraces,
snowflakes trickle down.
Down the thinnest icy wind,
snowflakes flutter down.
Soon they'll leave this place
and head back home again.

In hand is the razor.
In hand is the answer.

All that will be left, is the bitter cold and me.
The coldest air. The coldest me. The coldest air.
Will anything survive if this winter ever ends?
The bitter cold subsides but leaves the bitter me behind (again).

In hand is the razor.
In hand is the answer.

I've seen you here and there... around.
Nowhere near this hallow ground you've claimed possession of.
Your confessions are all so three dimensional.
They almost exude potential of being real.

This time I won't shed a tear for you.
My sweet, esteemed, endearing, fearful love:
Oh what a handful you've become.
What a painful thorn embedded in my side.

There's no need to lie.
My need for us expired.

Expired.

Shutter Eyes

Written By: Deseo

I have felt the fading of the day.
(I want to feel again...)
like it was before.
I want to hear the things you say without
Perplect-ion interjected in the subject spoken of.

I want to see again, with trusting eyes adoring all.
I want to feel alive just like those days nostalgia hoards.

I watch the world alone with an eye closed.
I hear a Kodak for proof of life.
The view I take in develops and seizes your mind.
I just want the moment frozen in time.

I want to breathe again,
With lungs expanding.
(Breathing in the most demanding breath)
Exhale. Feel attached,
to the strings connecting all existing patterns.
Enjoy a moment of perfect silence.
(When it mostly matters)
Right before the storm.

I watch the world alone with an eye closed.
I hear a Kodak for proof of life.
The view I take in develops and seizes your mind.
I just want the moment frozen in time.

System Error//ExLOVER

Written By: Ray

Theres an old lot - Out passed the space coast
There sits a dark girl - Kind of a ghost
She runs her coarse hair through her fingers
Shes screaming "Oh god, oh god I'm a Robot!"

Shes your girlfriend or ex lover
You'll find your warmth here underneath her covers
She's found her mirror on the pavement
Whispers "Thats it, thats it, I could fake it"

Your headaches - The noise you make
I'll touch the water...
Your headaches - The clickety clank!
I'll touch whatever...

These Walls

Written By: Deseo

Hey you put on your dancing shoes!

I want to know if you're dancing away all your problems.
Or are you the type holding up the walls around the dancefloor?
I only ask because I have two passes to a dance party called LIFE

Would you like to
move to the groove of life?
Outside these walls
with me tonight!

Hey you put on your dancing shoes!

The DJ's wrecking like a headline worthy train disaster!
Are you the type to carry on dancing, or leave the dancefloor?
I ask because the DJ spinning this party called LIFE
May wreck from time to time
but we'll continue dancing.

You'll move to the groove of life,
outside these walls
with me tonight!

Hey you put on your dancing shoes!
This is a party called LIFE!
Hey you put on your dancing shoes!
Hey!!

Set List

Our set list changes but is usually 7 songs which clocks in at about 30 minutes. We play all original material. However we have over 25 songs and enough material to play an hour set.

We select our set list to fit the night and lineup. Our sets range from high energy dark electrock to moody indie/shoegaze. We also have live video mixing projected as a backdrop.

In the past we've handed out 3D glasses and projected our visuals in 3D. We've even had a 6 foot tall blue furry mascot join us as a dancer to take the set over the top.

The local paper (Santa Monica Mirror) put it best when it said Bullet for Dali has a "dynamic and unusual stage show".
