Bio
Anne & Mark Burnell have been performing together for the past 15 years to national and international acclaim.
From Paris to Amsterdam, New York to Pittsburgh, and of course, right here in Chicago, they have delighted audiences the world over with their unique jazz, blues, pop and a cappella stylings.
A staple on the Chicago scene, they have performed at some of the Windy City’s top spots, including Davenport’s, Andy’s Jazz Club, and Park West.
They have appeared at Fests around the Midwest, including Taste of Chicago for 6 years, River North Fest, Pittsburgh’s Zanafest (3 years), the Chicago Humanities Festival, and have sung the national anthem for the Chicago Cubs, White Sox & Bulls.
Anne Burnell’s release “Blues in the Night" features arrangements by Count Basie Band veteran Bob Ojeda. “Blues in the Night” has garnered national airplay on numerous NPR and jazz radio stations, and internationally on Jazz & Blues Tour Radio, and charted top ten status on CMJ charts.
An accomplished pianist/vocalist/arranger, Mark is one of Chicago’s most sought-after musician/performers. The Chicago Sun-Times hailed Mark’s work as “silky smooth and highly polished.” For the past 2 years, Mark had been a Master Instructor at the International Cabaret Conference at Yale University.
