BURNING EMBERS is the best way to describe Robs lyrical content and with the combination of his haunting yet full on voice it projects the genuine realities that he has lived.
Raised in south auckland and bred in a enviroment of hardships ranging from gang life, crime and family disfunction he has managed to create a musical biography which tells his story. From a early age Rob was raised with a street wise attitude which at that time he thought would gain him respect in all the right places, but in reality it gained respect in the darkest places where most would not dare go. Imprisioned at a early age, he thought through his life and started writing while incarcerated, what was meant to be a personal diary, evolved into songs, unlike his usual musical surroundings which was hardcore gangster rap, and reggae he found salvation through simple rock tunes and created something that was to become a phenominal experience not only for himself but for those who listened. He writes from his heart and is guided by his soul, for those who have listened, relate to his lyrical content and have taken on the songs as a means of understanding that the hole that they may be in,you are always able to climb out with the right mindset and positive attitude. From his hard rock musical power to his haunting ballads, they all project a positive message, and now with a band who understands the message, "We took it upon ourselves to sacrifice our time for his words to be heard", "we have all had our share of battles, and its the music that heals the wounds, for we are BURNING EMBERS and we will rise from the ashes"...... From a seed i was born and into a tree i grew, from a place so dark that only a few knew, corrupted by the elements that mostly stormed i never gave a shit wether you were rained on, why did i fall? so i could learn to pick myself up, a solid upbringing made bricks and not a paper cup, so next time when you think youve had it hard, think again, cause theres ways of getting out of this my friend, cause one day when my tree stood tall by the all the wrong soils that made it fall, lightening struck and wha was left? was the Burning Embers and growth that rose from the depths...
