What happens when you mix psychedelic hip hop, political hip hop, and acid rap together? You get the underground rhyme style of the band, Burn One Project. The band consists solely of Rod Wizzle from MI and Stoned Sully from OH. They started playing in April 2010 and their debut album, “DeMonsTea”, is going to be released April 1st.
Wizzle and Sully have never met in person. They met over the internet a few years ago and a connection formed that eventually led to the production of “DeMons Tea.” As Wizzle and Sully say, “We keep our third eye vision squeegee clean, if you know what that means this is the album for you…” Burn One Project is influenced by many artists, ranging “from Detroit to California, from the 1960s to yesterday.”
“DeMons Tea” is a psychedelic/political hip hop album. “What do we mean by psychedelic? Well it's all about expanding your mind from the way we are programmed to think, elevate your conscious with us and join the new earth movement.” The title of “DeMons Tea” was derived from the hidden message in the title itself. “DMT is the most powerful psychedelic known to man used for thousands of years in different cultures. When you have those trippy dreams and wake up like wtf was that?? That is caused by the natural DMT your brain produces when you enter heavy REM sleep.”
There is also a political spin to “DeMons Tea.” Burn One Project describes it as how they “explore the ideas of how this country was founded, the shadow government, our fake money and manipulated economy.” You can see the political influences in songs such as ‘Not Free’, ‘Intelligence’, and ‘We Like War’.

Stoned Sully (OH) & Rod Wizzle (MI) we came across each other online a few years back and a connection was formed that manifested into this album. DeMons Tea is for those who see with their third eye, if you know what that means this is for you, if not our music will open it for you. DMT is the hidden message in the title, DeMons Tea. A quick definition of DMT it is the most powerful psychedelic known to man, your own brain even produces it naturally when you enter heavy REM sleep it causes you to have those wild dreams. “When smoked it’s like a thousand years of knowledge in 15 minutes” -Joe Rogan. The music is a balance of expanding your mind from the way we are programmed to think (psychedelic hip hop) and thoughts on how this country is manipulated by an elite power (political hip hop). The overall message of DeMons Tea is that we are all one conscious, we are all equal. We just have to get past all the distractions society creates to separate us and unite.
