Burnt Ash

Each of the five band members has differing tastes and influences, but the genius of the band is that they have been able to grow both individually and as a tight outfit. They may have differing musical styles, but they have used this appreciation and respect for each others tastes to ensure that each of their songs is different to the last, keeping not only the band entertained but more importantly, the listener.

Sean is the chief songwriter. His influences come from all styles of music; however, his main influences are George Michael, Queen and The Beatles.

Darren is an accomplished guitar palyer. He has been playing guitar since the age of 11. Darren's influences come predominantly from guitar-driven bands such as Guns 'n' Roses, Audioslave and Aerosmith.

Joe's laid back, steady rhythmic style complements Darren's natural flamboyancy. Joe's influences aim towards the heavier end of things, including Nickleback, HED P.E. and Nirvana high up on his list.

Nick was a founder member of the precursor to Burnt Ash. He set the ball rolling when he invited Sean to join his already existing band while they were at school together. They hit it off instantly and realised that they had a solid foundation on which to build the rest of the band. Nick's bouncing bass lines owe much to a childhood of listening to Paul Weller and the Jam. However, to say Nick admires Billy Joel would be an understatement! He is also heavily influenced by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

Rowan, is a more than competent drummer. His driving technique blends a melting of different styles, resulting in a unique feel and groove that propels Burnt Ash to another dimension. Besides his technical gifts, Rowan also knows how to put '4 to the floor' and just rock out... a great all-round drummer. Rowan's influences borrow from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Incubus and a lot of black influenced music. Rowan has been playing drums since he was 9 years old.
