"BURY THE NEEDLE, The Middle East"

FAST ACTIN’ FUSES, BURY THE NEEDLE, SHANGHAI VALENTINE
The Middle East
7/22/04

10:15 brings the crowd a slightly louder unit who go by the name Bury the Needle. A power trio fronted by a high octane screamer with an echo box, sportin’ some major left arm ink---seem to have the crowd’s attention from start to finish. Seeming to be in his own world, the singer effectively puts his personal stamp on a hard rock sound and leaves flavored by touches of Unsane, Drive like Jehu and the Jesus Lizard. Although there wasn’t much band/ audience interaction tonight from Bury the Needle, there is no posing either and ya gotta love ‘em for it. Some bands have got a hidden agenda but Bury the Needle just wants to melt your face off.

"TRAKTOR 7 SHOWCASE, The Middle East"

Next up was Bury The Needle who are a crazily energetic band. The singer was all over the stage, sometimes using the mic stand and sometimes tossing it aside. The band wore all black, and had that mod Faint-type look with black pants and black button down shirts. They may of even had ties on, I forget? The singer is one of those pretty boys with his hair all done up nice, but he has tattoes pretty much all over him as well, so you know he’s not one of those typical screamo singers who’s gonna cry onstgage (yes, I just dissed Thursday. Get used to it, its gonna start to happen all over.) So the singer continued to go nuts for every song, sometimes slapping himself in the face with his hands and the mic, which was pretty funny. Their sound is very punk rock, but just a bit heavier. It reminded me of The Bronx at times, and of the singer from Refused, although I would never put them or any band up to that par. Good stuff though, and they are new and playing! locally so be on the lookout for Bury The Needle. (Ken Irwin) - Noise

"Bury the Needle:"

Bury the Needle: S/T – I was introduced to these guys first when they played live and just slapped me around. Heavy, thick and pounding but with a hint of dark humor, really great shit. (Iann Robinson, Metal Sludge)

Bio

Since their inception in the winter of 2004, the five members have aimed at building a wall of sound, acquiring a devoted following and capturing the attention of critics and other bands on the scene along the way.

The Needle worked hard throughout the years, enduring car accidents and broken bones to make appearances with bands such as Unsane, Today is the Day, Crash and Burn, The Atomic Bitchwax and JJ Paradise Players Club, just to list a few. With high-energy frontman Erik at the helm, the Needle has climbed onto bills all over New Englad, from all-ages house shows to venues such the Middle East (upstairs and down), T.T. the Bears, O Brien's, and Great Scotts.

Acquiring new singer in 2006, BTN has a new breath of life recording a full length album to be released in the fall of 2006.
