Biography

All originally from South Bend, Indiana, the boys from Busted Creek have known and played music together on one level or another for a long time.
Their newest Bloomington based formation, Busted Creek, is a perfect blend of singer/songwriter and rock n' roll forming a group that plays a style that might most suitably be called "rock with a social conscience". With influences ranging from Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Van Morrison to The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, and Shooter Jennings, Busted Creek has musical appeal to many listeners with their guitar solos, story telling lyrics, and a thick grooving rhythm section.

Lyrics

Sonny

Written By: Chad Miller

Blood on blood sonny promised her, the bond they sowed would never tear.
Years went by they moved so fast, in the end, it couldn’t last.

And she walked right out the door, like she’d never hurt before.
Red Blood turning cold as ice wiped away her eyes.
Maybe someday she’ll return, when she feels that it’s her turn.
Maybe as the years go by, well she’ll find her piece of mind.

Sonny works the tracks all day, like a dog, to get his pay.
Late at night when he’s at home, he can’t help, but feel alone.

And he walked right out the door, like he’d never done before.
Feels like lighting’s going to strike, you can see it in his eyes.
Maybe someday he’ll return, when he feels that it’s his turn.
Maybe as the years go by, well he’ll find his piece of mind.

And at night, they sleep, and dream.
Oh of a better day, oh of a better day.
Of a better day, we could all use some better days

And they walked right through the door, like they’d never done before.
The fire still burns deep inside, when they see each others eyes.
Maybe someday they will learn that life is more than just a turn.
Maybe as they live their lives, well they’ll both break down and cry.

Suburban Skyline

Written By: Chad Miller

She laughs out loud and says she loves me still and I say, here’s to a perfect life, a perfect wife, a perfect view,

Of another suburban skyline, two more days and I’m on my way. To a better job, with slightly better pay, but anyway.

These nights turn into days the weeks to years, these ordinary lives just disappear,

Into another suburban skyline. Two more days and I’m on my way, to a better job, with slightly better pay, but anyway, that’s ok, what would you say, would you stay?
One more day, what would you say?

What are we when we’re too young to remember, but old enough to know, better.
It seems to me that this world can knock you down, and lead you there to bleed, we’re no better.
So let it bleed let it drain you to your core and then you’ll start to see, you’ll feel better.

It’s just another suburban skyline, two more days and I’m on my way. To a better job, with slightly better pay, but anyway, that’s ok, what would you say, would you stay? One more day, what would you say? Would you stay, one more day? What would you say?

Tendencies

Written By: Chad Miller

I’ve got a tendency to wear my heart on my sleeve
I’ve got a bad tendency not to say what I really mean
I’ve got a tendency a tendency to drink too much
cause these bad tendencies make me think too much.

And I know there are better days around the bend, but they, don’t know that I’m messed up in the head again oh no, and I hope that we find the other side I guess we’ll see, I guess we’ll see.

I’ve got a tendency sometimes to ramble on for days
about the way things seem to me it seems I’m falling out of phase
with the people I was close to back when things weren’t so bad
now I’m pissed off and lonely for the things I should have had.

And I know there are better days around the bend, but they, don’t know that I’m messed up in the head again oh no, and I hope that we find the other side I guess we’ll see, I guess we’ll see.

And these days they last forever, and these days bring stormy weather. And behind this piece of mind lies someone else’s nightmare this just wasn’t the way I planned it to be.

And I know there are better days around the bend, but they, don’t know that I’m fucked up in the head again oh no, and I hope that we find the other side I guess we’ll see, I guess we’ll see.
