Biography

Buster Jiggs

Emerging from the Texas honky-tonks and dancehalls, Buster Jiggs is a four-piece country-rock band that has continued to evolve creating its own sound. They have broadened, yet focused their songwriting in a direction that is finding its own niche in the Texas music scene.
Forming ten years ago, this seasoned quartet has become more like a family than just a band; enabling them to overcome lineup changes that most bands could not. Rhythm guitarist Kristin Muennink gracefully and commandingly became the voice of Buster Jiggs, debuting her vocal talents on their 2007 EP Miserably Happy. Since then, Heath Childs has taken over the lead guitarist role and dazzles us with his harmony vocals and hypnotizing melodies. The pulse of the band since the garage days of Taft, Texas, remains Kristin’s husband/drummer Scott Muennink and long-time friend/bassist Cody Scherer.
You might say they have grown a little and yet they still know how to deliver the fun. They show us this from the very beginning of their newest album, Smith Music release Heartache Jubilee, and don’t let up till the end. Produced by Joseph Deeb (formerly of Micky and the Motorcars), the long anticipated and aptly titled Heartache Jubilee comprises 11 original tracks of love and angst against the backdrop of striking vocals and memorable tunes. Taking you from sawdust dance floors to riff driven rock-n-roll, this album
is pure ear-candy.
“With Kristin’s unique vocal tone, Heath’s blending harmonies and melodic guitar lines, and a rhythm section locked tighter than Huntsville, this band’s got a sound and a memorable batch of songs that music fans are gonna really enjoy!” Joseph Deeb.
So go see them at your favorite venue, and this time keep a fresh one, or two, close by because you aren’t gonna be able to peel yourself away from the reenergized, reinvented music of Buster Jiggs.

Buster Jiggs has shared the stage with such acts as:

Rodeny Crowell, Reckless Kelly, Bruce Robison, Charlie Robison,Cross Canadian Ragweed, The Bellamy Brothers, John Conlee, Micheal Martin Murphy, Eli Young Band, Cory Morrow, Asleep at the Wheel, Robert Earl Keen, & James McMurtry, just to name a few.

She's Gonna Break Your Heart

Written By: Kristin Muennink

You have such a lovely heart
and I hate to see it hurtin'
Cause you work so damn hard
To keep her coming back for more

And she don't know what she's got
and baby she ain't worth it
so don't go beggin' on your knees
when she goes walking out your door

Cause she's gonna break your heart again
and I won't feel sorry for ya
cause I've done all that I can
To open up your eyes

She's got you danglin' on a string
with your heart out in the open
and it's just within reach
of her crushing it one more time

yet you still stick around
thinking you can change her
and live behind a white pickett fence
baby not this time

Cause she's gonna break your heart again
and I won't feel sorry for ya
cause I've done all that I can
To open up your eyes

she's gonna break your heart again
and I won't feel sorry for ya
cause I've done all that I can
To open up your eyes
and when she breaks your heart again
I won't be waiting for you
so don't you be surprised
when she breaks your heart again

Ain't It Sweet

Written By: K. Muennink, S. Muennink, C. Scherer

We left town on a Tuesday afternoon
It was a little bit later than I really wanted to
Now we're fourteen hours in
and that suns' comin' up again

Ain't It sweet
Lovin' you from the drivers' seat
Your just in reach
Lovin' you from the drivers' seat
All these miles to let you know
To let you know I'll never let you go
Ain't it sweet

I never knew this road could be so damn long
But these broken white lines keep runnin' on and on
I wouldn't have another one
That I'd trade riding shotgun

Ain't It sweet
Lovin' you from the drivers' seat
Your just in reach
Lovin' you from the drivers' seat
All these miles to let you know
To let you know I'll never let you go
Ain't it sweet

We don't need no cheap ole motel bed
I'd rather drive to the end of the earth with you instead

Ain't It sweet
Lovin' you from the drivers' seat
Your just in reach
Lovin' you from the drivers' seat
Ain't It sweet
Lovin' you from the drivers' seat
Ain't It sweet
Lovin' you from the drivers' seat
Ain't it sweet

Once Again

Written By: K. Muennink

Come and find me
Tell me a story if you can
It wouldn't be the first time
This poor ole heart of mine would mend

Here we go
Here we go
Once again
You pull me in
Laid me out
Thought we'd finally worked this out
But once again
You broke me down
Once Again

Think it's funny now
How certain things can make you cold
Pull the knife from my back
Wipe it off and take it home

Here we go
Here we go
Once again
You pull me in
Laid me out
Thought we'd finally worked this out
But once again
You broke me down
Once Again

Madhouse

Written By: K. Muennink

Blown' smoke
From a damn good cigarette
Up to the stars above this town
I've been walking these streets
Just to try and keep
Your memory from comin' around
I hit mainstreet
After midnight
Thought I'd finally figured out
Life in this madhouse
When your memory comes around
Keeps comin' around

Everything at home
Reminds me of the love I made with you
And all those pains in pictures frames
Can't tell me what to do
I'm not crazy
Maybe insaine
Padded walls won't keep you out
Of life in
This madhouse
When your memory comes around

Cause I've been trying way to hard
To keep myself from fallin' apart
And I'm tired of being alone
But I can't go home

It was an early morning phone call
When I knew you wern't comin' home
It wasn't easy to have you leave me
I wasn't ready to let you go
I still love you
Can you hear me
Cryin' on the floor can you let me out
Of life in this madhouse
When your memory comes around
Cause I've been trying way to hard
To keep myself from fallin' apart
And I'm tired of being alone
But I can't go home

Addicted To You

Written By: K. Muennink, S. Muennink (Buster Jiggs), J. Deeb

I need a fix
Think I'll take another hit from you
I'm on a trip
Stumblin' tumblin' and fallin' all over you

Cause you have no idea what you do to me
Baby I need your touch cause it's killin' me

Baby Cause I'm addicted to you
and all those things you do
beggin baby please
cause your sweet love is my disease
cause I'm addicted to you

I'm on the wagon
Shakin' from a nearly leathal dose
Never imagined
That I could fall so hard or come so close

Cause you have no idea what you do to me
Baby I need your touch cause it's killin' me

Baby Cause I'm addicted to you
and all those things you do
beggin baby please
cause your sweet love is my disease
cause I'm addicted to you

It's been days now
I've been here strung out
Now there's nothin' left to lose
yeah to lose

Baby Cause I'm addicted to you
and all those things you do
beggin baby please
cause your sweet love is my disease
cause I'm addicted to you

Pretty White Wings

Written By: K. Muennink, S. Muennink

A frame enfolds a faded memory
Of a tortured soul with pretty white wings
Who’s gone now from this earth
To live the life that they deserve
High above animosity

And now they’re high so high
Shinnin like diamonds in the sky
They’re a breath of wind with no one else around
And when goodbye is not goodbye
You never ask the reasons why
If you listen close you can hear them sing
And they’ve all got pretty white wings

Put up on a shelf is where they’ll be
The sweet eyes of my favorite memory
They can see me walkin by, but I’m the only one who cries
I hate the way it has to be

And now they’re high so high
Shinnin like diamonds in the sky
They’re a breath of wind with no one else around
And when goodbye is not goodbye
You never ask the reasons why
If you listen close you can hear them sing
And they’ve all got pretty white wings

Did you know that you were everything to me
And I’m still not sure just why you had to leave
But time still moves on and when my time here is done
You’ll be the first one that I see

And now we’ll high so high
Shinnin like diamonds in the sky
We’ll be a breath of wind with no one else around
And when goodbye is not goodbye
You never ask the reasons why
If you listen close you can hear us sing
And we’ve all got pretty white wings
