"Heartache Jubilee Review"

Buster Jiggs (Official / Myspace) – Heartache Jubilee (Smith Ent.): These guys have been kicking around Texas for the better part of 10 years. The sultry vocal of Kristin Muenninck fit the bands barroom blend of soul and twangy rock with a dash of blues thrown in for good measure. Love in various forms is the dominant lyrical theme on the album. This makes sense, given that there is a married couple in the band. The drummer, Scott Muennink is hitched to the lead singer. Now back to the vocal performance of the lead singer. “Pretty White Wings” showcases Muennink’s ability to harness her voices strength in order to be tender and vulnerable. This specific performance becomes a bit more profound when I read the liner notes of the album and see that this song specifically is dedicated to a couple of loved ones who have recently passed on.

"Heartache Jubilee Review"

When we received the new Buster Jiggs CD, we were both very impressed
with the productions, the sound, the
songs, and Kristin's vocals. It is definitely one of best CD's we've
listened to all year.
Buster Jiggs has a terrific sound and Kristin is one of the best female
vocalists in Texas..
Listen and you shall see.

Bio

Buster Jiggs

Emerging from the Texas honky-tonks and dancehalls, Buster Jiggs is a four-piece country-rock band that has continued to evolve creating its own sound. They have broadened, yet focused their songwriting in a direction that is finding its own niche in the Texas music scene.
Forming ten years ago, this seasoned quartet has become more like a family than just a band; enabling them to overcome lineup changes that most bands could not. Rhythm guitarist Kristin Muennink gracefully and commandingly became the voice of Buster Jiggs, debuting her vocal talents on their 2007 EP Miserably Happy. Since then, Heath Childs has taken over the lead guitarist role and dazzles us with his harmony vocals and hypnotizing melodies. The pulse of the band since the garage days of Taft, Texas, remains Kristin’s husband/drummer Scott Muennink and long-time friend/bassist Cody Scherer.
You might say they have grown a little and yet they still know how to deliver the fun. They show us this from the very beginning of their newest album, Smith Music release Heartache Jubilee, and don’t let up till the end. Produced by Joseph Deeb (formerly of Micky and the Motorcars), the long anticipated and aptly titled Heartache Jubilee comprises 11 original tracks of love and angst against the backdrop of striking vocals and memorable tunes. Taking you from sawdust dance floors to riff driven rock-n-roll, this album
is pure ear-candy.
“With Kristin’s unique vocal tone, Heath’s blending harmonies and melodic guitar lines, and a rhythm section locked tighter than Huntsville, this band’s got a sound and a memorable batch of songs that music fans are gonna really enjoy!” Joseph Deeb.
So go see them at your favorite venue, and this time keep a fresh one, or two, close by because you aren’t gonna be able to peel yourself away from the reenergized, reinvented music of Buster Jiggs.

Buster Jiggs has shared the stage with such acts as:

Rodeny Crowell, Reckless Kelly, Bruce Robison, Charlie Robison,Cross Canadian Ragweed, The Bellamy Brothers, John Conlee, Micheal Martin Murphy, Eli Young Band, Cory Morrow, Asleep at the Wheel, Robert Earl Keen, & James McMurtry, just to name a few.
