 Perth, Western Australia, AUS
BandAlternativeSinger/Songwriter

A number 1 song “Counting the Beat” with The Swingers and two albums with the Models when drummer and songwriter. He began the indi scene in NZ with The Suburban Reptiles and is a charismatic performer with thought provoking, high energy songs that move your feet and your soul.

Biography

Buster began writing songs with Neil Finn when they were both teenagers in their first band After Hours.
He then formed NZ's first punk band The Suburban Reptiles who are credited with starting the NZ independent music scene. The Suburban Reptiles first release a double A side single (the first ever in NZ) Megaton / Desert Patrol written by Buster released on the Vertigo label by Phonogram now sells for over $600.
Original footage of the bands first art school gig is being restored by the Department of the Arts in NZ and is considered to be invaluable part of the cultural and musical history of NZ.
Buster then formed The Swingers with Split Enz founder Phil Judd and bones Hillman who later played bass for Midnight Oil.
Their song "Counting The Beat' produced by David Tickle( Blondie, Prince, Sheryl Crow The Police, Split Enz) was the fastest rising Oz single since Daddy Cool's "Eagle Rock" reaching number one on the Oz and NZ charts in 4 weeks.
Buster then joined Oz band The Models, played drums and wrote songs for their Mini Album, "Cut Lunch" and their critically and highly influential album "Local &/or General' for A&M at the Farmyard Studios in Buckinghamshire UK with producer Stephen W Taylor (Suzanne Vega, Peter Gabriel, Underworld, Howard Jones, Stevie Nicks, Rush, Bob Geldof, Rupert Hine, Sting, Lou Reed, Tina Turner).
The Models also used producer Steve Brown at Rak Studios in London with producer Steve Brown (Sir Elton John, ABC, George Michael, Alison Moyet, Haysi Fantasi, Queen, The Cult, The Manic Street Preachers, and The Pogues)
With a substantial punk credibility and pop pedigree behind him, Buster now performs solo shows with the same energy and originality that he brought to all his previous bands. Buster has 238 songs registered with APRA. In September 2009 produced five new songs with David Sandercock from New Mind Studios recording and playing keyboards, and guitarist/bass player Mark Schnelling

COUNTING ON IT

Written By: © Buster Stiggs 2008

One day god in heaven
Will show the error of our ways
One day we will take notice
Least listen to what he got to say

We have turned paradise
Into a dump heap
One day god will come back
Make us a new world in a week

We are counting on it
Yeh we are counting on it
We are counting on it
Yeh we are counting on it

One day all the children
Will be safe with their own beliefs
Holding hands around the world
Know what it feels to be free

One day all the rivers
Will run way down into the sea
We will look up at the sky
Through the forest and the trees

We are counting on it
Yeh we are counting on it
We are counting on it
Yeh we are counting on it

One day all our soldiers
Will turn the other cheek
Say goodbye to poverty
When strong protect the weak

We are counting on it
Yeh we are counting on it
We are counting on it
Yeh we are counting on it
We are counting on it
Yeh we are counting on it
We are counting on it
Yeh we are counting on it

DADDY SAID

Written By: © Buster Stiggs 2008

For every side show, there’s a main attraction
For every victory, someone’s missing in action
For every one with hope, someone has lost faith
For every one given up, someone just got the taste

So walk on, stroll on, move on, be strong
Walk on, stroll on, and don’t get to complicated
Move on, be strong, life is there for the taking

But you better listen to what your daddy says
Because he’s been there before and daddy knows best
If you had been through what he had been through
You might change your attitude

They call it rush hour, but nobody moves
This one is allocated, that one you got to choose
For every non believer, someone’s got the faith
For every head that turns, someone looks away

So walk on, stroll move on, be strong
Walk on, stroll on, and move on into the future
Move on, be strong, do it when it suits ya

But you better listen to what your daddy says
Because he’s been there before and daddy knows best
If you had been through what he had been through
You might change your attitude

For every one who just discovered their noble heart
Someone’s just had their world blown apart
For every perfect aim, someone blasts away
For every opinion, someone's got no say

So walk on, stroll on, move on, be strong
Walk on, stroll on, don’t get to complicated
Move on, be strong, life is there for the taking

And you better listen to what your daddy says
Because he’s been there before, and daddy knows best
If you had been through what he had been through
You might change your attitude

So walk on, stroll on, move on, be strong
Walk on, stroll on, and move on into the future
Move on, be strong, just do it when it suits ya

DRINK SPIKER

Written By: © Buster Stiggs

Don’t worry honey hold onto your cash
Leave it up to me to get you trashed
Don’t worry honey it’s a cheap night out
Leave it up to me it’s my shout

Because I’m the drink spiker, drink spiker
I’m the drink spiker, drink spiker
I’m going to fuck you up

I like your smile and I checked out your arse
Now I’m going to put a mickie in your glass
All I wanted was to talk to you
Now look what you’ve made me go and do

I’m the drink spiker, drink spiker
I’m the drink spiker, drink spiker
I’m going to fuck you up

Drink spiker, drink spiker
Drink spiker, drink spiker
Drink spiker, drink spiker
Drink spiker, drink spiker
I’m going to fuck you up

I don’t care if you are rich or if you’ve got cash
When I’m done with you
I’ll put you in the trash
I don’t care if you are nice or if you’re a bitch
When I’m done with you I’m going to dump you in a ditch

Because I’m the drink spiker, drink spiker
I’m the drink spiker, drink spiker
I’m going to fuck you up

FIFTEEN MINUTES BEFORE CLOSING TIME

Written By: © Buster Stiggs 2008

Said goodbye like we were friends
I can’t wait till I see her again
Next thing you know I couldn’t want more
In the back of a taxi
She’s between me and the door
Cabbie took us the long way round
Dropped us off on the wrong side on town
She said oh dear ain’t life a drag
As we walked to the club
And she lit up her last fag

It was fifteen minutes before closing time
Fifteen minutes before closing time
Fifteen minutes before closing time
Fifteen minutes before closing time

Walked downstairs
Eyeballed the doorman
Looked at us a
Like we were off of our heads
Said good evening folks you are cutting it fine
Its 15 minutes before closing time

Fifteen minutes before closing time
Fifteen minutes before closing time
Fifteen minutes before closing time
Fifteen minutes before closing time

Got in the club what to do
Said with her eyes it’s up to you
Break beat kicked in like a rush of blood to the head
Dance floor lights were just the best

So we danced
Like we were never ever going to dance again
And we danced
Like all the broken hearts in the world would mend

It was fifteen minutes before closing time
Fifteen minutes before closing time
Fifteen minutes before closing time
Fifteen minutes before closing time

And we danced
She forgot about her girlfriend
And we danced
Like the night was never ever going to end

It was fifteen minutes before closing time
Fifteen minutes before closing time
Fifteen minutes before closing time
Fifteen minutes before closing time
Fifteen minutes before closing time
Fifteen minutes before closing time
Fifteen minutes before closing time
Fifteen minutes before closing time

IT’S ALL GOOD

Written By: © Buster Stiggs 2008

I don’t believe in love at first sight
But then again maybe I should
Every time our eyes meet
Honey its all good

Honey its all good
Honey its all good
Honey its all good
Honey its all good

I don’t believe in miracles
But then again maybe I should
Every time our eyes meet
Honey its all good

Honey its all good
Honey its all good
Honey its all good
Honey its all good

It’s all good
It’s all good
It’s all good
Honey its all good

LEGS TO DIE FOR

Written By: © Buster Stiggs 2008

She saps my confidence, Destroy my self esteem
She treat me rough, Talk to me mean
Spend all my money, on a new set of shoes
All she ever gives me, Is the blues

But she’s got legs to die for, legs to die for, legs to die for, legs to die for
Legs to die for, legs to die for, legs to die for, legs to die for

Take a holiday, Rio here we come
Run around after her, while she just lies in the sun
I hale a taxi cab, she wants a limousine
Put her on a pedestal, Treat her like a queen

Cos she’s got legs to die for, legs to die for, legs to die for, legs to die for
Legs to die for, legs to die for, legs to die for, legs to die for

She does anything, anything she wants too
Puts up the hoops, for me to jump through
She stays up for a week, then a three day crash
Always got a rolled up note, but never the cash

But he got legs to die for, legs to die for, legs to die for, legs to die for
Legs to die for, legs to die for, legs to die for, legs to die for

She all woman, the wrong side of seventeen
She is all attitudes, with a fake ID
She says what’ yours is mine, And what’s mine aint yours
But she sends me to heaven, behind closed doors

Cos she’s got legs to die for, legs to die for, legs to die for, legs to die for
Legs to die for, legs to die for, legs to die for, legs to die for

Put a rubber band around my finger, to remind me it’s not love
She ain’t no angel, but oh heavens above

She got legs to die for, legs to die for, legs to die for, legs to die for,
Legs to die for, legs to die for, legs to die for, legs to die for
She got legs to die for, legs to die for, legs to die for, legs to die for,
Legs to die for, legs to die for, legs to die for, legs to die for

MOONLIGHT

Written By: © Buster Stiggs 2008

Road was dark
I had lost my way
Head full of thoughts
With nothing to say
Yeh I was down and
I was sad
I had forgotten there was
Good times to be had

Then you came along like moonlight
You came a long like moonlight
Yeh you ohh ohh you came along like moonlight
Yeh you ohh ohh you came along like moonlight

Road was dark
I had lost my way
Tongue was tied
Nothing to say
Yeh I was down
And I was sad
I had forgotten there was
Good times to be had

Then you came along like moonlight
You came a long like moonlight
Yeh you ohh ohh you came along like moonlight
Yeh you ohh ohh you came along like moonlight

Road was dark
I had lost my way
Head in the clouds
Feet made of clay
Yeh I was down
And I was sad
I had forgotten there was
Good times to be had

Then you came along like moonlight
You came along like moonlight
Yeh you ohh ohh you came along like moonlight
Yeh you ohh ohh you came along like moonlight

Yeh you came along
You came along
Yeh you came along
You came along like moonlight

NEAR YOU

Written By: © Buster Stiggs 2008

I look into your eyes
They’re a mirror
Like a magic moon rise
On a river

It is really something
It is really something
To be near you

I look into your eyes
There is no shiver
Like a warm sun rise
On a river

And t is really something
It is really something
To be near you
It is really something
It is really something
To be near you

I look into your eyes
They’re a mirror
Like a magic moon rise
On a river

And it is really something
It is really something
To be near you
It is really something
It is really something
To be near you

Sharing the same view
Everything feels brand new
Sharing the same view
Everything feels brand new

And it is really something
It is really something
To be near you
It is really something
It is really something
To be near you

OUTSIDE THE CIRCLE

Written By: © Buster Stiggs 2008

Standing outside the circle
All my friends and me
Standing outside the circle
Got our own reality
Standing outside the circle
All my friends and me
Standing outside the circle
No one wants to leave

Standing outside the circle
Standing outside the circle
Standing outside the circle
All my friends and me

And it is what it is
And nothings going to give
And nothing seems
Inconsequential
Standing outside the circle

Standing outside the circle
All my friends and me
Standing side the circle
We so far out we are in
Standing outside the circle
All my friends and me
Standing outside the circle
Feel like the thrill of a win

Standing outside the circle
Standing outside the circle
Standing outside the circle
All my friends and me

And it is what it is
And nothings going to give
And nothing seems
Inconsequential
Standing outside the circle

Standing outside the circle
Standing outside the circle
Standing outside the circle
Yeh we’re standing out side of the circle
Yeh yeh yeh
Yeh we’re standing out side of the circle
Yeh yeh yeh

Standing outside the circle oh yeh
Standing outside the circle uh ha
Standing outside the circle oh yeh
Standing outside the circle uh ha
Standing outside the circle

VIVA MY SENORITA

Written By: © Buster Stiggs 2008

Viva my senorita
Viva my favourite girl
I’m longing, longing to see you
Last time I saw you
You looked so well

I love the way you dance
It’s out of control
Put me in a trance
When you do your stroll

And when you take me there
I don’t want to come back
When you take me there
I don’t want to come back
And when you take me there
I don’t want to come back
When you take me there
I don’t want to come back

Viva my senorita
Viva my favourite girl
I’m longing, longing to see you
Last time I saw you
You looked so well
Yeh yeh yeh
Yeh yeh yeh

And I love the way you dance
It’s out of control
Put me in a trance
When you do your stroll

And when you take me there
I don’t want to come back
When you take me there
I don’t want to come back

Take me there
It’s out of control
Take me there
It’s out of control

And when you take me there
I don’t want to come back
When you take me there
I don’t want to come back
