Bio

Buster began writing songs with Neil Finn when they were both teenagers in their first band After Hours.
He then formed NZ's first punk band The Suburban Reptiles who are credited with starting the NZ independent music scene. The Suburban Reptiles first release a double A side single (the first ever in NZ) Megaton / Desert Patrol written by Buster released on the Vertigo label by Phonogram now sells for over $600.
Original footage of the bands first art school gig is being restored by the Department of the Arts in NZ and is considered to be invaluable part of the cultural and musical history of NZ.
Buster then formed The Swingers with Split Enz founder Phil Judd and bones Hillman who later played bass for Midnight Oil.
Their song "Counting The Beat' produced by David Tickle( Blondie, Prince, Sheryl Crow The Police, Split Enz) was the fastest rising Oz single since Daddy Cool's "Eagle Rock" reaching number one on the Oz and NZ charts in 4 weeks.
Buster then joined Oz band The Models, played drums and wrote songs for their Mini Album, "Cut Lunch" and their critically and highly influential album "Local &/or General' for A&M at the Farmyard Studios in Buckinghamshire UK with producer Stephen W Taylor (Suzanne Vega, Peter Gabriel, Underworld, Howard Jones, Stevie Nicks, Rush, Bob Geldof, Rupert Hine, Sting, Lou Reed, Tina Turner).
The Models also used producer Steve Brown at Rak Studios in London with producer Steve Brown (Sir Elton John, ABC, George Michael, Alison Moyet, Haysi Fantasi, Queen, The Cult, The Manic Street Preachers, and The Pogues)
With a substantial punk credibility and pop pedigree behind him, Buster now performs solo shows with the same energy and originality that he brought to all his previous bands. Buster has 238 songs registered with APRA. In September 2009 produced five new songs with David Sandercock from New Mind Studios recording and playing keyboards, and guitarist/bass player Mark Schnelling
