Bio

Led by the folk-soul voice of Welsh singer-songwriter Gwilym Morus, the band perform a mix of eclectic grooves aimed squarely at the dance floor.

Bwcomashi is a relatively new band, having begun rehearsals during the summer of 2012, but they have already secured the attention of local audiences and attracted several head-lining slots at local festivals.

Bwcomashi was put together by Gwilym Morus, ex-front man of Drymbago, Wales's first afro-funk band; Morus gigged extensively with them throughout the UK between 2006 and 2011 releasing two albums that were very well received by local media in Wales.

Morus has also been releasing his own material over the last 8 year, releasing a string of albums with singles heard often on national radio.

Now, with Bwcomashi, he is once again finding what makes for a good dance, a good time and a great night out. The band members of this new project hail from across the country, including Dylan Donnachie (drums) and Giles Thaxton (guitar) from Machynlleth's Big Bunda, and Nick Bard - recently returned from Edinburgh to play bass for the band.

A first album, Madfall, is currently ready to be mastered and will be launched this June at a clif-top venue on Aberystwyth's Constitution Hill. The label behind the release, Sbrigyn Ymborth, who also release on behalf of Welsh country-rock favourites Cowbois Rhos Botwnnog, is expecting a quick take-up on the CD after it's launch, with several tv and radio outlets already anticipating the release.
