Bio

Playing guitar and singing from an early age, Byron was playing pubs, clubs, parties and special events by his early teens around his hometown of Cairns in many bands, winning 3 regional Battle of the Bands along the way.
In 2004 Byron established himself as a solo artist, recording his debut EP ‘King James’ at Pegasus Studios where he wrote and produced all the tracks himself before moving to Brisbane to further his career.
The EP was released in 2005 and lead track ‘The Ballad of King James’ was incredibly well received in the Soundcheck Music Competition, securing a top ten position out of over 400 entries through public internet voting. The track ‘Believe Me’ was recorded live in Brisbane but was especially written for and performed to his graduating class at Cairns High’s 2004 Valedictory, the lyrics uplifting and optimistic. The tracks ‘Get By’ and ‘You Wanna Talk’ were written by Byron at the age of 16 and are sure to be memorable selections from Byron’s musical canon well into the future.
Byron was performing live in Brisbane when his EP attracted the attention of Daniel Jones (formerly of Savage Garden) at Meridien Musik who offered to engineer Byron’s yet-to-be released debut album, ‘Before My Time’. The album contains 12 original tracks and has again been written and produced by the man himself at the tender age of 18. It is scheduled for independent release in 2006.
The EP also attracted the attention of the Pushworths Agency who provided Industry night opportunities for Byron to present his music in live performances. Byron and his newly formed band have recently played a set of Saturday night shows at the Waterloo Hotel where they performed songs from the EP and upcoming album to enthusiastic crowds.
The EP was also distributed by AMRAP to more than 60 community radio stations throughout Australia. Reports showed the songs received good reviews and were included in play lists at many of the stations.
To end 2005 on a high note, Byron received his first royalties check from APRA for his original songs.
At 19 years of age, Byron is certainly poised for exciting things in the music industry. With his ever expanding catalogue of original material and his swelling fan base, he is a career artist with a promising future.
