Bio

Byshop Lynch is an Alternative Rock/Acoustic band out of San Antonio, Texas. Byshop Lynch plays original music. Not original like, “this is the next new thing”, or “this is something you’ve never heard before”. Original in the aspect that they have written, recorded, produced, and copyrighted original songs. The songs are arranged with some intros, verses, a chorus sometimes, and a few solos. The songs range in subject from loss, anger, child exploitation, sex, drugs, and of course, Rock and Roll. The genre of the music can range from rock, to indie, to folk, to punk, to singer/songwriter. But don’t be surprised to hear hip-hop/rap, techno, or any other genre Byshop Lynch might be involved with. They have a firm belief they should not restrict themselves to any style of writing. For longevity in the music world, one must have an open mind, as long as you “mean what you say, and say what you mean.” A good listener appreciates honesty.
Byshop Lynch enjoys electric riffs, but they also like to play acoustic guitar, harmonica, and keyboards. With some solid songwriting, the songs are real, raw, and to the point; but we are happy to say, the best is yet to come. They are influenced by old, as well as modern music. They have been influenced by hip-hop, metal, punk, folk, jingles, commercials, and movies. Their influences are too many to mention all by name. Some of their influences are: Nirvana, Bob Dylan, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Green Day, and N.W.A. What they sound like is difficult to describe in one genre. They will leave it to time and others, to decide who/what they sound like.
Byshop Lynch has been steadily working on their second full length self-produced album, entitled 'Slave to the People' with Grammy Award winning producer/engineer, Joe Trevino. It has been a privilege for them to work with such a true professional. They’ve been busy for about two and a half months on their current project.
The band’s roots began in 2002 with Byshop Lynch (frontman/songwriter) and Rob Rock (Bass). Byshop met Rob while working together at a steel door/frame manufacturing plant. Their mutual love of music led them to become close friends. Byshop had learned how to play guitar, and some basic music theory a few years earlier. He had dreams of putting a band together. He had hoped Rob Rock would be a part of this great adventure called Rock and Roll.
Rob had the bass guitar, the amp, the hair, and the ambition, but there was just one problem, he didn’t know how to play a lick. Byshop saw this as an opportunity to teach someone, who was already a friend, how to play some music, and even more importantly how to play his original music. As soon as Byshop thought Rob had learned enough, it was time to go do an open mic, then small festivals, and then bars, and bars, and benefits, and whatever to gain more experience. Along the way they must have had at least four drummers, but the core of the band, Byshop and Rob were extremely persistent. Through the years they continued with or without a drummer, bought a Boss BR-1600, bought some mics, and recorded a full length album. The last piece of the puzzle was filled by a young drummer named Zack Gonzales. Zack brings great energy to the band and surpasses expectations daily. He’s got the job. Hopefully somebody told him it doesn’t pay much at this time.
Byshop Lynch will currently be promoting and playing material from their first self-produced album 'Public Display of Nothing', as well as material from their latest project. They will also be looking for: Management / Booking Agent – For local Texas gigs
