About C.N.K
C.N.K is a NYC based up-and-coming original duo, members consisted of two students of New York University— Christy, the vocalist; and Flow Keyz (a.k.a F.K), the pianist, songwriter and rapper. The Duo started in March, 2016, providing audiences with original musics with genres varying between Vintage pop, American Standard, Pop/R&B and Jazz/Hiphop, etc. Even though still a fairly young team, C.N.K already performed at multiple live houses in cities like NYC, Canton and Wuhan, receiving positive remarks. While being the crowd drawer, C.N.K never stopped producing good music: their first single “Can’t Help Missing” earned its seat in the Top 10 Chart of Douban Music in June, achieved astonishing 150,000+ number in playback amount on Echo. C.N.K’s second published single “February” even ranked the 3rd place on Douban’s Top 10 music chart. Their debut album “Nineteen & Half” is on it’s way to release.
As a duo based oversea but still focusing on Chinese original music, C.N.K’s style was strongly influenced by American pop music. Their musics are melodic, fun, improvisational, and sometimes nostalgic. In topic choosing, C.N.K continues to explore their identities and lifestyles as new-generation international students: sometimes confused but still loving their lives; emotional but not cynical. Even though emerged in western pop music, C.N.K still often seek inspiration from Chinese history and modern lifestyle. Overall, showing the essential characters of the new generation Chinese musicians, C.N.K is a diamond in the rough in the Chinese music industry.
