When you think Hip Hop what comes to your mind? Do you imagine the boast of cash, cars, women, and ice? That’s not this: C. Valenta takes the substantial and infuses it with heart and soul. His approach to music is an anomalous proclamation that substance is the skeleton of Hip Hop, and he’s its lifeblood. When asked why he doesn’t posture like his contemporaries C. Valenta responded, “I love everyone like I love myself.” C. Valenta’s belief is that talking raw experience is both bringing truth to power in the industry and giving silenced communities a mouthpiece. He has been writing, engineering, and producing since November 2018. Since then, he’s been featured on his local radio station U92 and won the Keys to the Industry Hip Hop Contest. Recently, Valenta performed at Utah’s largest art festival, Urban Arts Festival. In 2019, Valenta founded F.A.M.E (Family Above Money Everytime): a record label consisting of varied artists and producers who participate in and contribute to community events and those in need. To most a record label means music, but Valenta calls it his “Family”.
