C-4 Punchlines

Greeting. My name is Gionni Carr (C-4 Punchlines) and I am a 25 yr old graduate of the University of Memphis with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and a Minor in Marketing. Graduated as Student Body President of the UofMemphis in 2008 and then was appointed by Governor Phil Bredesen to represent all of the college students in the state of Tennessee. I am a registered (BMI) Songwriter, Producer, and Rapper and a very business minded individual. I also own my own publishing company (Haney Carr Music Publishing). Born in Nashville, TN, I grew up in a very close nit family. The younger of two siblings, I grew up with both parents in the household.
What sets me apart from most rappers is that I’m a 3-HEADED MONSTER! As stated earlier, I write, produce, and perform my own music. No sampling, my beats are 110% original. My musical style is very eclectic and is subject to change on any given day. One day, I might wake up and write a club song and the next day, I might write a love song. It all depends on my mood because everything that I write is a snapshot of me at that given point in time. I imagine my rap style as a big pot with sprinkles of Jay-z, Clipse, Lil Wayne, Eminem, Nas, and Pharell in it with a southern lid covering the top. If you took that pot and stirred it up, I would be the end product. My flows are all about explosive PUNCHLINES and metaphors hence the name (C-4 Punchlines). If you were to close your eyes and listen to my lyrics, I would be able to paint you a mental picture, using my words as different colors and my style as the brushstroke. The end result would be a beautiful mural that would tell a vivid story. I am not one for bubble gum rap (meaning less verses). My Lyrics must having meaning and be articulate. With that being said, I am very aware of the market and have the ability to make hits that can thrive in the clubs, on the radio, etc.
My Biggest musical influences would include Michael Jackson (I listened to his music everyday for years as a youngster), Stevie Wonder, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Eminem, Nas, and Pharrell and the Neptunes. I love to listen to classical music, jazz, latin jazz, and many other genres of music.
Currently, I am just recording 1 song every 2 weeks. I purposely did not put out a mixtape or a cd. My strategy is to quietly record hit after hit in hopes of catching the music world by surprise. I perform as often as I can and most notably performed at the 2010 Miami Music Festival, along with having a half-page ad in their magazine and being on their compilation album. I honestly just keep my mouth shut and work hard day in and day out until God see’s fit for me to be at the next level. I practice my delivery and music daily and will be ready my when time comes to restore Hip-Hop to its rightful place in the elitism of music.
