"CADAVER EYES HAS BEEN REVIEWED IN; BRUTALLICA, METAL MANIACS, TERRORIZER, IN MUSIC WE TRUST AND OTHERS,"

[Jeb Branin, inMusicWeTrust]
This review is looooooong overdue but I've finally recovered from the
shock enough to write it... This bloke knows how to puke
out the vicious digi-grind.... it is
like a visceral version of DATACLAST. I'm impressed.

Cadaver Eyes - Demo 01 cd-r
Independent, 2001 / 8 minutes 50 seconds
1. Grazed
2. Skandal Sha'Aurigah
3. Powerless Emperor
4. Sweet Home Alabama
5. All Inside Head

Cadaver Eyes explode through your speakers at a very intense rate!
This demo is rough tough and raw as two Nuns using a baseball bat for anal penetration!
They play industrial death grind which is completely noisy and will fuck you up
quite good,
you could best descibe Cadaver Eyes's music is pure industrial noise terror.
This demo contains five speaker shredding tracks that will have your ears
pooring blood
and have you looking like an indoor water fountain! This recording is very
crude and at times has a weird background noise, but you still got to love how
chaotic this bands music is! I think people who are more into noise are more
likely to enjoy this,
but if you like extreme, noisy and very intense music then give this a try!

Cadaver Eyes - The Acquisition of Power over Fire/No Time to Haste
This past weekend, I attended a wedding that was half Jewish. One of the Jewish customs observed was dancing the hora. If you're unfamiliar with the hora, it's a lot like a mosh pit. There's tons of circle pits dancing around the bride and groom, who get raised above the crowd on chairs - kind of like crowdsurfing. As with moshing, I didn't plan to dance the hora. But the vibe was thick, the DJ was killing it, and before I knew it, someone grabbed me and pulled me in. I practically got whiplash; I barely had time to hand my drink to a surprised bystander before I was deep in the fray.

A common hora soundtrack is "Hava Nagila," which is fucking metal. If you disagree, just check out Anthrax's "I'm the Man," which nicks its riff from "Hava Nagila." Phrygian Dominant pwns.

Jewish mosh pit

Likewise Israeli and metallic is Cadaver Eyes, a one-man grindcore band named after lyrics from Alice Cooper's "I Love the Dead." Like many drummers, David Opp attaches triggers to his kit. However, he triggers samples instead of drum sounds. This allows him to produce nearly any combination of sound at once, and he takes full advantage. Distorted bass and guitar, samples of a prison execution, straight-up noise, and traditional folk music all get the blastbeat treatment, with lyrics in Hebrew and English. It's crazy, spastic, and addictively lo-fi, like if Fantomas made Napalm Death's Scum.

This CD, released last year on Heart & Crossbone, collects the out-of-print No Time to Haste CD from 2001 along with 2004's The Acquisition of Power over Fire EP.

CADAVER EYES The Acquisition Of Power Over Fire / No Time To Haste (Heart & Crossbone) cd-r 12.98
We listed an amazing record a while back from a band called Barabara, from Israel, who sounded to us a bit like a black metal Hella! So here we have the newest record from a band called Cadaver Eyes, which just happens to be the solo project of Barbara drummer David Opp, who in Cadaver Eyes also plays drums, but the twist here is the drums trigger samples, so it's a seriously self contained one man band, just one guy singing and whipping up a huge grinding metallic shitstorm with his drums. Pretty impressive. Sounds like some of the samples must be crusty Napalm death / Carcass style guitar riffs, while others are rumbling super distorted bass. The end result is a sludge-y grinding thrash attack that would be right at home on Earache or Peaceville circa late '80's. All sung in Hebrew, with some songs peppered with random bits of found snippets, traditional Israeli folk songs, media bites and other random sonic interference. This should also hit the spot for folks into the grind-sludge of Burmese, UK crusties Doom, Texas scuzz merchants Rusted Shut as well as anyone into crushing spastic chaotic musical mayhem!

CADAVER EYES The Acquisition Of Power Over Fire / No Time To Haste CD
Heart & Crossbone (Isreali import)

This is another project from Isreali avant-hesher David Opp, who also plays drums for the brootal blackened bass+drums duo Barbara (whose amazing CD we also carry in the Crucial Blast webstore). Cadaver Eyes is his solo project, and it's a bit different from the black metal-meets-prog-punk vomit of Barbara. Instead, David has rigged his drums with triggers that set off samples of all sorts of ill shit, with David blasting and rolling and summoning up a locust swarm of electronic bzzt and old death metal album samples and bowel-blowing bass blurt. It's a hideous, glitchy, crusty avant-grind splatter holocaust, sort - -

Bio

Drummer David OPP has been harassing the music industry for more than 20 years now. Starting in the mid 80's with the rusted punk of Cholera, moving on to the post-punk extremities of Shalosh Heit, playing self-indulging indie rock with 1249 in the early 90's, experimenting with electronics as MILDEW a little bit later, and jumping gradually to the boiling lava of underground grind, noise and hard-core with bARBARA, Lietterschpich and his most radical project to date, Cadaver Eyes.

For seven years Cadaver Eyes was a one man band, whereas David OPP has been functioning like a multitasking grind-core octopus, utilizing his drum kit and its' triggers, a mad sampler and his brooding screams on top of all that beautiful mess. His live shows has always been oblique and skillfully structured at the same time, taking noise music to a higher, more sinister state of unconsciousness. In 2001 he recorded "No Time to Haste" which was produced by Steve Austin (Today is the Day) and released the following year. All copies were sold-out and 2005 saw the reissue of this underground classic with some bonus tracks as " No Time to Haste + The Acquisition of Power over Fire EP".

2007 sees David OPP taking a different approach towards this original project. Accompanied by Zax Ben Doom (his colleague from Lietterschpich and an electronic musician who recorded with Random_Inc), who plays low-level frequencies on A no-input-analog mixer, the current sound of Cadaver Eyes is a mix of grind terror noise blasts & extremely slow-paced, soaked, apocalyptic and vibrating avant-doom-drone, like the hellish sounds of Khanate, Sunn O))), Birchville Cat Motel and Kevin Drumm.
