BandAlternative

Cadence is acoustic based music with an open atmospheric sound. The songs themselves are anchored by songwriter William Lemon and his ability to blend lyrical details with simple honest statements. They are a hard working and creative band form San Diego, California.

Biography

The band Cadence grew out of the friendship and love for music of William Lemon and Jake McCabe. While being involved in other projects, the two would record and collaborate on each other’s music. During this time, William recorded some of his own solo material and the duo decided that they needed to focus all their attention on this project instead of the other projects. Cadence’s unique style is a refreshing blend of acoustic guitar and ambient noises. Their influences include; Wilco, Elliot Smith, Ryan Adams, Limbeck, and The Get Up Kids.

Lyrics

Autumn

Written By: William Lemon

There is a quite difference
in the cadence of the city
streetlights hang by threads
and my movements attached to them
when nostalgia keeps me awake
and then leaves like the sleep from my head
I wish I never knew you
last time that I saw you
autumn was leaning over to
kiss you on the cheek
while sunlight broke across your face
when nostalgia keeps me awake
and then leaves like the sleep from my head
I wish I never knew you

Silhouette

Written By: Willam Lemon

I left every intention tied to your chest
but there was dissension with every single breath
while my reservations poured to my face
I’m afraid all that’s left is your kind heart,
a silhouette
caught in your hair was technicolor hue
and I knew it wouldn’t last with every fading blue
these days bring you further and further away
I’m afraid all that’s left is your kind heart,
a silhouette
and this is what’s left
what’s left
