Rising R&B and Soul star, Cait Cuneo released her first solo album, “Violet” on December 21, 2012. The five song EP shows off Cait’s soulful vocals and musical talent with her original lyrics and music on every song. "Some of my inspirations include Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, Jill Scott, and Janis Joplin. If you look at this list closely you will notice that these are all powerful influential women. Their strength is what captivates me. Recently, I have been embracing more pop and hip-hop. My playlist right now would include: The Roots, Alicia Keys, Black Star, Erykah Badu, Beyonce, Emily King, and Esperanza Spalding.
Anything at any moment can inspire me including; a new genre I am experiencing for the first time or an old song I haven’t heard for a couple years. I can just feel my mind and heart attach to the music. If anyone has a favorite song or artist, I guarantee they feel this same attachment with that music. Cait Cuneo was born a singer and has been following her passion from day one. Since she was only a teenager, she has shared her “commanding, expressive” voice on hundreds of stages in cities all over the country. Falling even more in love with music and performing, she discovered a new passion for hip-hop containing jazz influences and more modern artists. A Pennsylvania writer said it “doesn’t matter which style she wraps her voice around, she’s convincing and entrancing.” Along with expanding herself as a solo artist, she channels all of these styles in her writing.
Cait has been working endlessly on the debut of her first solo record. December 21st she released a five song EP entitled Violet. She is currently on a U.S. Tour with an 8 piece band supporting this recent release. The band uses the combination of great songs, powerful vocals, and explosive instrumentals to give each audience a unique performance.
