"20 YRS. 3 MTHS. & 12 DAYS......."

Feeling a bit camera shy

Canton Jones was born and raised in Deerfield Beach, Florida. He began singing at the age of five in his church and local quartet group, founded by his father. With the support of his family, Canton expanded his interest from singing to producing at the age of sixteen. He then moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he attended and graduated from Morehouse College. As a member of the Morehouse College Glee Club, he was given the opportunity to sing in the opening ceremonies of the 1996 Olympics, tour Russia, Poland, Africa, and Denmark, and perform for personalities such as Oprah Winfrey, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, and Billy Taylor.

Canton Jones is the “complete package” simply because he can do it all. As a producer, he can create any genre of music from hard core rap to a symphonic, classical piece. As a singer, he has the ears to arrange vocals with plush harmonies and melodic lines. As a songwriter, he formulates story lines that every day people experience. As a vocal coach, he can adequately explain the necessary techniques that a vocalist or rapper would need to apply to their performance.

Conscious of the problems that today’s youth experience, Canton Jones has craftily enticed listeners with the culture of hip-hop, rap, and R&P, while lacing each track with the gospel of Jesus Christ. He has applied the same method of teaching as Jesus Christ by using parables of human existence to explain God’s Word. So, whether someone is stuck in a Traffic Jam or at the end of a stressful day all they want to do is Party Tonight, any person will be able to relate to the message Canton wants to convey.

Crucifixion nor cross was able to conquer the Son of Man. Canton Jones has the drive of Jesus, knowing that the “thugs” and drug dealers, the poor and the rich, every race, every creed, and every religion needs to hear and accept the Good News in order to receive salvation. The only thing Canton Jones wants to do is be obedient to God, allowing God to use him in order to win back His lost sheep.
20 yrs, 3 mths, and 12 days…

Party Tonight is a song that personifies the ultimate Christian party track. Why is it that only the secular world can party ‘til the break of dawn? No longer will Christians have to wonder why. “It’s 1:30 in the morn” and it’s time for Christians to get their praise on!

For Myself is a universal look at the way people sometimes equate being “saved” with what parents and friends may think of the entire situation. In this song it is brought to the listeners attention that unless they get to know Jesus for themselves they will never really know Him.

Unconditional is the type of love we desire from other human beings. However, in this song it is revealed that only God can provide us with this type of love. Believers are encouraged knowing that in spite of their faults God loves them and waits for them to call His name.

20 yrs, 3mths, 12 days…is Canton Jones’s personal testimony of finally opening his eyes to God’s Word and His will for Canton’s life. When he was 20 years, 3 months, and 12 days old he met his wife who challenged him to visit World Changers Church International to experience another level of studying the Word. There, he received the true and living Word of God and his life was changed forever.

Traffic Jam is a song that ministers to any person of any race, culture, gender, background, and age. Everyone at some point in their lives has experienced a traffic jam. Even more close to home is the story behind the song. A traffic jam that is caused by a tragic accident makes any driver or passenger ask themselves: “I’m in a terrible rush, but where would I rather be - in this traffic jam or in the wreckage?”

Life is simply a love song to God. What is life without God? What is death if we as believers can’t spend eternity with God? We are nothing without Him. Our lives are meaningless without God.

Answering Machine (interlude) is a comic interpretation of what God’s answering machine message would sound like if we had to physically call Him on the phone.

Phone Song is a comical way of viewing God as a notorious person that is hard to reach. He can’t be reached on His cell phone, pager, two-way, or voicemail. Where would we be as believers if God were not the easiest person to get in contact with?

Serious is a hype song that will get any person excited about God. We can be victorious and live gloriously because he desires more for us.

Love Me is a dance track that celebrates God’s love for his children. We love Him because he is true to His Word, providing for us and fulfilling our every need.

Boot Camp (interlude) is a portrayal of God’s soldiers recruiting for the war against Satan.

Battle is a victory song. We’re going to war, yes, but we already have the victory in Christ. Packing a “gat” and being armed with a sword and shield is symbolic of being armed with the Word of God. Strap on yo
