CakeWalk NOLA

CakeWalk is an eclectic nine-piece funk ensemble hailing from New Orleans, Louisiana.  Their music combines traditions of classic New Orleans soul and funk like The Meters with elements of R&B maestros like Stevie Wonder, and classic rock like the Allman Brothers.  The band was born in early 2014 from close friendships between nine Tulane University students and has quickly gained significant support from both the college music scene and the artistic community in greater New Orleans. CakeWalk’s impassioned live performances transform the dance floor and always leave the crowd yearning for more funk.

The stage is set by CakeWalk’s three dynamic vocalists.  “Kool” Kyle Oblinger (Vocals) fronts the group.  His sound ranges from silky smooth to dirty funk, and his confident and collected demeanor sets the lascivious vibe, driving the band through their live performances.  Piper Browne (Vocals) seamlessly moves from the backup role to the forefront. Her disarmingly sweet tone sparkles, but can bring the energy to a peak without notice when she hits her stride.  And when Jenna Winston (Vocals) takes the mic, it's like someone dropped a bomb on the track. She’ll push your hairline back while delivering unprecedented soulful tones.
