Caladh Nua are 5 young musicians from Counties, Carlow, Kilkenny and Waterford in the Sunny Southeast of Ireland. From their humble beginnings in 2009, they have released 2 critically acclaimed albums to date, "Happy Days" and "Next Stop". Having made their debut performance in October 2009 at the Copenhagen Irish Festival alongside acts such as Dermot Bryne and Steve Cooney, their journey has taken them to perform at many well known festivals throughout Europe and Canada from Lorient Festival InterCeltique in France and Tonder Festival, Denmark to Winnipeg Folk Festival in Canada. Ireland's President, Mary McAleese, also invited the band to play at Áras an Uachtaráin for the Annual presidential St. Patrick's Day Celebration in March 2010

The band has toured Austria and Germany in 2010 / 11 with such musicians as Michelle O'Brien, Laoise Kelly and members of Grada, Andy Laking, Sean Regan and Riverdance sensation Aislinn Ryan. Having toured Canada in July and August 2011, they have participated in some of the Worlds biggest and most well known festivals, sharing stages and brushing shoulders with the likes of Beoga, Crash Test Dummies, John Doyle and John Spillane, to mention but a few. 2012 will see them return to Germany and Austria with further tours, aswell as tours in Denmark and the UK.

Closer to home, the band have played many well known local arts centres and venues throughout Ireland. They have enthralled audiences up and down the country with their fresh and personal approach to Irish Traditional music and song, whilst remaining loyal to the tradition.

Caladh Nua will excite and move audiences of all ages and nationalities, bringing the rich tradition of Irelands music and song to both Irish music fans and those not so familiar for many years to come.
