Calamity Jayne is a concept that came out of a trip to the Canadian country music awards in Saint John, NB in September 2006. Vocalist Wendy Irvine, Bassist producer Andrew Fetterley and Stephen Lawrance of Lawrance Artist Management, all travelling with Steven Lee Olsen to his new artist showcase, felt that there was an opportunity for a leading edge band led by a female vocalist on the Canadian scene. This is when the concept of Calamity Jayne was born. Calamity Jayne is going to be the vehicle for original material from a number of sources both inside and out of the band.
