Calathea

The band "Calathea" was founded in the spring 1999 - and released first demo CD "The Touch of Empty Verse" till the end of 1999. Both critics and fans enjoyed this album very much. The Touch of Empty Verse was followed by second demo album "Wish Thinking" two years later. Both of them were sold completely. The band had a chance to be performed for many successful live shows - to choose from all - they shared the stage with Finnish stars HIM in Prague and participated in the biggest european gothic festival "Wave Gothic Treffen 2003" in Leipzig. The members haven´t changed since the beginning: Lukas Pirkl - guitar, vocals. Jaroslav Holy - keyboards. Pavel Pirkl - drums. Only the names of bass quitarists are changing. In 2004 singer Olga Lounova joined Calathea. One year later Calathea with producer Dusan Vozáry recorded Calathea´s first official album. The band has a lot of live performances not only in Czech republic but in foreign countries of course. Calathea was performing with the artists like HIM, Type O Negative, Feiled, Deathstars, Hevein, T.M. Stevens. In the autumn 2007 Marketa Myskova became the lead person of the band.
